davidwhangchoi Posted Friday at 10:23 PM Posted Friday at 10:23 PM I sense Bandai is getting ready for DX Roy VF-1S DYRL edition with items to set it apart from TV 1S, -square box micro missiles. -DYRL Roy pilot -and some exclusive that sets it apart from TV edition. (maybe throw in some mechanic strike parts) Interesting to see they are distinguishing the TV hands and missiles on this 1J, another way Bandai gives back a little while setting up a market for a DYRL edition. jenius Posted Friday at 10:47 PM Posted Friday at 10:47 PM It's definitely the right tray because that's the one with all the TV style hands. Would like to see the other tray also to see how they included the missiles. It's funny, they actually reduced the amount of contents in the first tray since it used to be three sets of DYRL hands and then one set of R TV gun holding and L TV open hand. Basically, we get one less set of hands. Contents aside, looks like the toy is the same ol' VF-1J Hikaru. Quote
Chronocidal Posted Friday at 11:41 PM Posted Friday at 11:41 PM Wow, Bandai. That's not even "New Hat" level. That's an alternate glossy feather for the hat. Quote
raptormesh Posted Saturday at 02:37 AM Posted Saturday at 02:37 AM (edited) I didn't realise it was 1/48...thought it was 1/60. This is my first ever VF-1! Picked one up yesterday at the store. The funny thing is that they took a picture of my face at check out. Maybe to avoid scalpers? Not sure how that works. The queue was also an interesting mix of old dudes in expensive suits, enthusiasts and tourists. The box is nice, but it's still unopened. Edit: No lottery involved, just rocked up and bought it. the_foul_fowl Posted Saturday at 08:27 AM Posted Saturday at 08:27 AM Yup, the photo at the store says 1 piece per customer. It’s how Tamashii Nations limits this by taking a picture every time you get a store exclusive. Not sure how accurate it is cos I’ve never tried to get duplicates 🤔 Quote
grogall Posted Saturday at 08:57 AM Posted Saturday at 08:57 AM (edited) you'de think that after two days of this version being available, somebody would have thought of posting a comparison pic with the first or second release!? 🤔 But Honestly I think other then missiles and stand, there is no diff. Not here. Most Valks here tends to stay in their boxes. Quote
betocc Posted Saturday at 04:20 PM Posted Saturday at 04:20 PM Expect more pics soon and probably a comparision Quote
rsvictor1976 Posted Saturday at 04:57 PM Posted Saturday at 04:57 PM What does the back of the box look like? Anyone got pics? Quote
Shawn Posted Saturday at 05:32 PM Posted Saturday at 05:32 PM Well there is that pesky thing called the Pacific Ocean delaying the arrival of the toy to the states for a side by side comparison The front/back of the box are in the post above by betocc-that is literally the box. I'm glad to hear that its not a lottery event only anymore and anyone can grab one, which implies prices should drop a bit. I pulled the trigger and got one at $185 yesterday when I still thought it was lottery sales only, now I wonder if I should have waited a bit longer. Quote
rsvictor1976 Posted Saturday at 08:18 PM Posted Saturday at 08:18 PM Oh okay, I thought that was a slip cover since the picture was vertical. Quote

grogall Posted Sunday at 05:58 AM Posted Sunday at 05:58 AM (edited) So we have a YouTube video.... Real video starts at 4:30 🙈 Edited Sunday at 06:00 AM by grogall Quote
Shawn Posted Monday at 04:33 PM Posted Monday at 04:33 PM Can say I am just a bit disappointed it looks exactly like the first. Their product promo photographer needs to have their white balance checked when doing those original pics. The 'product may look different than image' certainly held true on this one. Quote

jenius Posted Monday at 07:38 PM Posted Monday at 07:38 PM He's looking at the product he already spent the money on Quote
rsvictor1976 Posted Monday at 07:40 PM Posted Monday at 07:40 PM I don't mind it if it'll drive the price down and help grow interest in the franchise, Quote
Shawn Posted Tuesday at 12:17 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:17 AM I guess the good news if they do drop cheap enough, we could get them for $140 each and recreate the Yamato display! Quote

You need 9 units to recreate Yamato's sequence. 10 if we're going to follow Bandai's. DX VF-1J Transform Sequence 480p.mp4 Quote
davidwhangchoi Posted Tuesday at 07:21 AM Posted Tuesday at 07:21 AM at least you get extra missiles Quote
Bishop Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) OMG, great to see my profile pic being discussed! I saw it in person at the macross museum some time ago. Would be awesome with vf-1j but super expensive. Edited 18 hours ago by Bishop Quote
jenius Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago We could do it at an MWCon type event easily enough. Quote
Froy Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) One showed at mandarake https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1279245993&ref=list&keyword=Vf 1&lang=en Interestingly only 5k Yen above original price. Few months ago I paid 28k for an opened/used first release. Lol. Edited 5 hours ago by Froy Quote
