Finally got around to this weeks episode. After all the rushing of the past few episodes, this one felt like it totally slammed hard on the brakes. It really felt like nothing at all happened. Lots of ladybossing, but really a lot of nothing. Basically the same stuff that they were building towards in the last episode is what people are talking about in this episode.

Definitely a bit slower on the action in Ep6, but the plot moves on. I thought it was pretty good and I'm looking forward to the next.

I felt like even the plot kinda stopped in this episode. It just felt like they were all still mostly at the same point as in the last episode, but without the action. The Numenoreans did have a bit of a change, but not by a whole lot. That side story mostly set itself back to where they were at the beginning of the season minus a guy or two

Which I think is alright, and even necessary. Everyone is like, 'where's the action?' but you need the build up between the action pieces to make them worth it.

In this one we see Celebrimor falling almost completely under Sauron's control, and seeing the way he literally controlled how Celebrimbor was viewing the world, and that he is playing the orcs, getting them into a position where he can take control of them during the coming assault on Eregian. On Númenor, I think we may start seeing the reason Pharazon could have in forcing the Queen into marriage. In the eyes of the people, she now has the support of the Valar, and he needs that for himself.

Watched the newest episode last night. And there’s finally some action again. Haven’t watched any of the criticism over the episode yet, it’s definitely another less than perfect episode and I’m sure those videos will be fun.

I guess the dwarves live rather close to these elves since it’s estimated that their tinny little legs would get them to the battlefield in only a few hours. The dwarves are still not trusting that ring of Durin’s and it makes you wonder why anyone else would try one after how horrible it made him so quickly.

the fighting is a good distraction from the silliness, like the fact that the orc catapults can destroy mountains, but barely damage the walls of this small elven fortress.

the orcs are kinda a bunch of emotional crybabies and don’t realize they appear to have killed almost every elven warrior in middle earth in one night. Their Troll was kind of a waste since he charged onto the battlefield and died rather quickly.

the dwarves didn’t bother to show up and that’s probably a good thing since it looked like only twenty elven warriors were left alive and their cheering army looked pretty small…..in number.

 Really don’t like this portrayal of Sauron in this show at all. He constantly plays like he’s a victim and whines about it a lot. He’s still good at manipulating idiots though and luckily for him Middle Earth seems full of those. It’s as if they’ve never encountered lies and have no concept of deception 

the best thing about this episode is actually what wasn’t in it. No numenorians or not hobbits or sad Gandalf looking for his stick, but with the battle over, that’s surely gonna be an episode full of girl Frodo and girl Samwise unfortunately

The season ender did not work for me. But, to be fair, the show hasn't worked for me overall. I feel like I'm not the right audience for it, as I am not an avid Tolkien fan.

Season 2 was entertaining for the most part for me.   At least compared to the first season which was barely watchable.

This show is definitely and most particularly NOT for the avid Tolkien fan, either...

That’s just one major problem with the show, but something that a decent writing team could have gotten the audience through. 
 

just finished the last episode of the season and probably the entire series. It’s just a bit of a jumbled mess and plot points mostly went back to how things were at about the second episode of the season again with a couple major differences. Also, I thought I was wrong about a certain nameless being a couple posts back

But it turns out it was the Balrog after all. It looked cool, but really felt like an awkward story thing to throw in. 

The numenorians flip flopped again about who is in charge and with all that wishywashiness going on, it’s no wonder they get wiped out so easily after these events. Their god just got tired of their stupid drama and had them wiped out for good reason, too bad that part might not make it into the show.

not sure why the Orcs betrayed their leader and went back to Sauron. Their other leader Adar led them not only to victory, but had a clear plan for peace. Although, I think peaceful orcs suck for a cool story 
 

Sauron cried some more. Sad Sauron is worse than spoiled Vader.

while the orcs were confused a small handful of maybe ten dwarves defeated their entire army somehow.

Sad Sauron defeated his ex temporarily and got the 9 rings back. I don’t remember, but I don’t think he had created the one ring yet, but I guess we might never see that.

almost forgot, but Grand Elf got his stick. Seemed like the smallest part of the whole story and more of a distraction than anything. The show ends with him and his bro Tom singing a duet and that’s it. The series is probably done

Honestly at the point we’re at, you could basically fill in most of the blanks at the end of the show by watching the Lord of the Rings movies and just forget about this show. It might get another season, but it seems like they lost too much money on this that it’s probably not happening and not really necessary to go any further

I liked it. Sure, there were a few warts*, but overall it was a good season. I really liked Celebrimbor and Sauron squaring off and Galadrial's face off against him too. The slower more dramatic episodes paid off here in seeing Eregian fall. Numernor and the Stranger just seemed to be tossed in unfortunately, though I did like how they gave Galdalf his name in this.

*no, a charge does not atop on a dime! The writers should have had Galladrial be revealed to the elves earlier as, again, you do not stop a charge once it has started, especially when that close to the enemy.

And no, the Stranger is not called Staff-Elf, as his name implies, but since he hadn't found his staff yet that would fit. Plus, just casual viewers wouldn't care and calling hims Grand-Elf instead is a bit more straightforward, and still in the 'spirit' of the whole thing.

Bette than Season 1 by far, and I am looking forward to 3.

I wouldn’t hold your breath on that one, the viewership seems pretty low on this season and unless they drastically cut costs , I kinda doubt it’ll happen
