I do prefer the movier version Meltrandi ships. I like those sharp, sleeker angles.

One sort of off topic question. Why do Hasegawa kits show the U.N.Spacy right side up on the gun pod when in battroid form? 🤔

I always figured they were that way because the gun pods, when belly mounted, were 'grip-up' so the logo was correct in that orientation.

Totally. That’s why the text should be upside down when held but instead the images show it right side up. Lol

I kinda like the fact that both groups have different style ships and Armor. It makes them appear as totally different species as they thought themselves to be. The more organic Zentran ships looking more alive and the more mechanical Meltran ships looking like something completely different, although I would’ve liked to have seen some variation in the Meltran mecha other than just the armors that would’ve been more angular to fit the looks of the ships a bit more

I've always assumed that it's a "how you like it" thing; I'm sure there are cels or illustrations featuring the UN Spacy logo upright in both battroid and fighter modes, and there's no hard and fast rule for prioritizing either orientation. Hasegawa's kits emphasize one particular form, so it makes sense that the lettering orientation would be whatever best fits that form. The 1/100 Wave kits, on the other hand, are meant to intermingle to a degree, so it makes sense there that the lettering orientation has to conform to one form or another, and product pics show they favor fighter mode.

(Meanwhile, the Bandai 1/72 transforming kit shows it upright in BOTH modes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Another awesome illustration by Mercy Rabbit!

This scene is what i now imagine just before she's shot down in the hangar and we see the Meltran exit the cockpit and die.

I don’t think I need a third version, but that box art is sooooo good!

I heard ya. Wasn’t planning on buying it, but the box art is so epic that I want that on a wall. This is all hopefully another hint that we’re getting that Nousjadeul Ger

Check your instructions. Pretty sure they show to put one side either way so at least on UN SPACEY decal is correct regardless of which mode.

From the Hasegawa account or a Macross account?

This banner is directly from Hasegawa's website. This aligns with what will be on display at the Shizuoka Hobby Show. Let's hope for some neat Macross stuff to be announced!

Wow!!! VF-11 with booster and the Milia kit are very unexpected!
The pricing on the Milia kit is surprisingly high, but then I see it is a Resin kit. Very surprising.

Seems like the missile pod thing that T-Rex did with the shoulder intake bits on the 19 Advance is canon, and the thing that Bandai did on the DX isn't lol

Speaking of which, what happened to the custom mod parts to add the same features and more on the DX? Last I checked, nothing seemed to come of it even though parts were manufactured???

It’s about the same as their other resin character kits. According to the description it will be about the size of a 6 inch scale figure, which would probably be  out of scale for her Queadluun Rau unfortunately. But I still put her on preorder

EDIT: Here is a box size comparison. It's Big McLargehuge! I haven't get gotten the Q-Rau to compare size to that one.

Jibungous Glaug box is jibungous. I can't get over how huge this kit's box is. I remember the Q-Rau box being huge too, but I can't remember what the dimensions on that are.

This kit has a full interior, complete with a seat, display screen, and HUD. I wasn't expecting a clear piece for the HUD like that. The mono-eye is clear orange. All the sensors are clear red as expected.

Last night I watched some vids on YT of Japanese modelers building the old 1:72 Arii Glaug. Apparently it just hunches over due to its weight disbursement. All the builds I've seen of it are like that. Plus the arms look perhaps a bit too long. Other than that, Arii managed to make it with good proportions, and they employed polycaps which Imai never seemed to do at that time.

I did a brief unboxing of the kit in a video I uploaded Saturday after I got the kit. The Glaug is featured 20 minutes into the vid. Before that I show the Misa Hayase model by Plamax.
