Yeah, no surprise here. It’s the exact same kit with less face on the pilot.

The box art for these Zentraedi kits have been really awesome so far. Far better than what the assignment required for cool box art. I wish Bandai would allow their boxes to be as dynamic and action packed as these.

I would love for them to do that. I still have some of the older ships kits that I still need to put together.

I just want updated proper proportioned molds of all 5 main ships. They don't all have to match in scale even, just make them more or less each about 12-14 or so inches long, maybe larger for Breetai's command ship. I'd buy two of each to make the purple lady ships along with the greens!  Hey, a guy can dream!

I thought the purple meltrandi ships were actually different ships? Based on memory of DYRL anyway. I don't remember if they used the same ships in the original TV show, nor have I watched later stuff like Macross 7.

It's been forever since I watched the series or DYRL, but I know I saw Kamzin/Khyron's ship at least in purple somewhere one time on some show. Not sure about the other ships but I think it would be cool! 

 

EDIT - I wanna say it was the episode where SDF-1 returns to earth and Kamzin/Khyrons attack gets stopped by the female Zentradi commander. Can't remember her name at the moment. Her and him eventually hookup.

I'd assume so. The YF-19 battroid and even the VF-0 gerwalk boxes are pretty big too.

I always use llamas to remember her Macross name and the state of Arizona for the Robotech oneLap Lamiz for Macross Azonia for Robotech. 

I really only used the tv example for Robotech since they didn’t have the movie stuff, same name though

In the movie the ladies had mostly purple and they were mostly much sharper more high tech looking compared to the more rounded organic look male ships, but I think I remember some possibly being shared between them. As far as the show, I think that her ships were purple, but not so much male or female, just a few that seemed different in color than the green

My vague recollection is that those were movie-specific, and in SDFM the female Zentradi shared the same machines/technology as the male Zentradi save for the Q-Rau. Maybe they were colored purple instead of green, but that was the only difference.

Again, vague recollection. I could be wrong.

I believe most ships were the same for both,  in SDFM, as the Zentradi male and female were not at war. But in DYRL they were different and also waring w each other, this helped to differentiate their ships in the movie.

Those are the movie ones. They were far less organic looking than the male ships in the movie. More sharp edges and flat surfaces

I guess it doesn’t matter at all just not sure what to make of it.
