Really nice collection! @007-vf1

Is that the Studio Half Eye VF-5000B?  Experten made one in 1/100, and there's the 1/60 3D printed one as well.  I love your super rare Yellow Submarine 1/700 scale Valhalla III VC-551.

Awesome figure, the green is perfect.  @Convectuoso

Yes, it is the Kaiyodo resin model, but I can tell is too small for that mecha in 1/144. Is more like 1/200 scale

Thanks Chris. It's been a long time building and collecting. It's a 1/144 yellow submarine VF-5000B, I believe.

I only have a few Macross Plus models in 1/72 scale. Most of my collection, the ones you see in those pics are 1/144 and 1/700

And a few more pics of the VF-17T

I like it. Oddly enough this was the only mecha unique to 7 that I like.

There was just something about that scene where this battroid was grabbed by the Protdevlin that appealed to the toy collector in me.

.. Because I don't like my models stored in boxes...

My turn to show some goodies on my Thankfully-I-Can-Still-Build-them, ever increasing model display collection in 1/144

Zentrans vessels are around 1/700 scale

As you might notice some of them are pre-painted build-able "toys" like the F-toys and Tomytec; but most of them go through the painful process of cutting, sanding, pasting, sanding some more, painting, etc. You know the drill..

Congrats @Convectuoso really nice kits, and I know you need them to replace what we've been discussing.  I hope you can find someone reliable and trustworthy to build them for you, and I hope to be able to mail your SHE VF-11 with Fast Packs soon.

These are all the left over boxes from my Bandai 1/72 valkyries that were built:

Just found this and ordered it.  Wonderfest VF-1 dynamic kit. This kit is "non scale". Does anyone know what scale it's closest to. Looks like 1/100...Would very much appreciate some knowledge on this.C500A89F-26A1-4DAB-B24D-D6EC4E27EC32.jpeg.bbcc01e5f5fa7a6983dcb38787a8972d.jpeg

@sh9000Thanks for finally posting, I was worried whether you saw my messages.  Most likely your kits were in storage, so I appreciate you getting them out and taking a picture, amazing collection I'm envious!  Do you have other Macross plastic/resin kits besides these?

@BoltNice find, I'm pretty sure it's listed as 1/72 in my Macross Complete Model List, because it's slightly larger than 1/100.

@PhotogirlGreat addition to your collection!

@Grayson72I'm glad to see you posting here and sincerely hope you're doing well.

My Macross kit collection/pending stash, (16) shelves full front to back, plus the large top shelf which has room for future releases. Each shelf is 2' by 20" and was custom made so the original 1/55 valkyries can fit perfectly. Lots of rare resin kits I hope to post videos of each shelf showing what's contained within. I really love looking at the box art, some amazing artists!  When I'm feeling depressed or anxious I'll just grab a box or two and admire the details.

This seems like a great topic: Optimal dimensions of a storage shelf/cabinet in order to maximize storage of Macross related goods.

Nice collection there! I'm at the point where I'm running out of room for all my junk and am starting to think a couple of walls of storage shelves are necessary. 2' by 20" seems as good as any other starting point.

These kits along with the Arii Silver Box Set are the basis for the Bandai 1/100 variable kits.  Set of 10 (M1 - M10) quite rare and took me a long time to complete the set since they're almost 40 years old.  Finding boxes in good condition and with complete unopened packages, with the Max versions being the hardest.

M1 - M4: (3) mode variable
M5 - M8: (2) mode variable (Valkyrie & Gerwalk)
M9 & M10: Battroid mode

Really lovely box art, my favorites being the (3) Max.  Which ones do you like?

Apologies for the late entry here.

Really incredible ChristopherB!. Good show man. I had a good number of those kits (will have to see if I can dig up the picture), but you've really done the impossible here. I just love the packaging and artwork of these kits, and they were fun to build too. Mind's blown that you managed to track them all down!

Just use caution when gluing on the legs/ main engines; you may want to use epoxy. Also: the stand arm is trash.

@Gabe QYes, I tried my best to get the dimensions just right.  What I did is measure various boxes in different scales, while stacking/arranging them.  The box art makes for an interesting display and helps me to relax.  Thanks for your compliment and I'm looking forward to seeing your display shelves.

@HiriyuMuch appreciated, please share the picture(s) when you get will be cool to see your collection.

I'm sorry for not posting for a while, please enjoy the video.  I'll do more for the other shelves plus all the stuff hiding behind the front boxes.

@ChristopherB  Full disclosure: I do not own any of these anymore, and I think we may have spoken about them in the past. I had a good start on collecting the Heavy Weapons series, but ended up with only six of the kits. At that point the Hikaru and Roy 3-mode kits were the ones I was really after. There was a period during which I just couldn't find any of them, and gradually lost vigilance in the search. That's why I'm so impressed by the complete collection of these you've assembled - really great job, which I know took some dedication!

Photos of my old ARII 1/100 HEWAT collection, such as it was :)  Also some miscellaneous other ARII 1/100 Valkyrie kits.

Hit up some Bookoffs, especially the Super Bazaars, and you'll be adding to your stash in no time. Ran into these at Bookoff Super Bazaar Nagareyama the other day.

@pengbuzz @Bolt  Thanks very much, and I'll do my best to post more.  I've been dealing with depression for a long time, I get distracted and procrastinate about visiting Macross World.  But collecting, building and enjoying the box art from Macross kits always makes me feel better.  Plus I really enjoy seeing other people sharing their model kits with us.

@Convectuoso I'm really happy your kit arrived safely and I have one being built now that I hope to share soon.

@Hiriyu I can give you a lot of credit for getting me interested and dedicated to completing the HEWAT set as well as the others.  I was doing research for my Macross Complete Model List (MCML) Project when I came across your pictures.  You did a great job finding the (6), and I wish you would have been able to finish the set.  They really had amazing box art back in the 1980's.

@SpacePirateNeko Really nice collection, you have a lot of kits and some rare ones too, especially the Club M 1/72 Q-Rau.  I'm still missing that one, what's in the brown cardboard box please?

@Shawn  Greetings and I hope you're doing well.

@razgriz  Nice find!

My recently completed Hasegawa 1/72 VF-0S with Ghost commission.  This guy has some really awesome builds please check them out when you get time.  I'm not sure if others do it, but with kits that have color coded parts runners he paints the parts on the sprue, carefully removes them, and then does touch up later if needed.  That's a huge time saving on kits with a ton of parts.  Here's a sample:  https://codyscoop.com/liger-zero-panzer-zoids-172-hmm-kotobukiya-model-kit

This projects was the inspiration:  https://codyscoop.com/hasegawa-vf0s

Since the above valkyrie is from Macross Zero, I would love to share my recently commissioned F-14 Tomcat.  Just add some Macross kite emblems and it'll fit right in.  Enjoy:

The brown box is the old wave vf-4. Under that is a 1/6 Mylene. Your builds are excellent. Any advice on a good airbrush/ compressor? Around here all i see are the Tamiya ones that are pretty pricey.  I have to make sure to get something quiet since i live in an apt.

Thanks, took a few days of cutting up trees strategically for about 150 kits. Paid off in the long run though because theres no way i could fit the boxes in this place.

It's all relative. The Leonardos are shops that specialize in buying/selling pre-owned model kits, aftermarket parts, modeling reference books, etc. so while the prices may be lower compared to the States, they are actually overpriced when you compare to other places in Japan. Plus they are located in Akihabara, so you pay the location tax as well. On the other hand, since they are specialist stores, they are good places to go if you don't have the time to look for a better deal on a specific kit.

Meanwhile, Bookoff is a nationwide chain that specializes in pre-owned books, CDs, games, and other media, but has started dealing in hobby items in recent years. Since the staff are not hobby specialists, they often don't know how rare/valuable a kit is and you can find a lot of gems. There will be some damaged boxes or kits that are missing parts/decals (these are generally sold at a nice discount though), but you can always ask them to let you see the contents before you buy (I don't think Leonardo lets you do this). If you don't mind a kit that has the parts bags opened or a kit that is missing the assembly manual but is otherwise complete, or you just need some parts for a project, you can get some great deals.
