OMG, why is this thread not in the toy section to get more attention!?

Anyway, very happy that you are addressing the gappy-ness on the VF-1 Battroid, one of the big problems with this HMR line.

Regarding your side-cover issue - rather than trying to cover the hanging tab-tip, a possible approach could be to accommodate a slit/hole in your side-covers to allow the tab-tip to poke through as an acceptable compromise. I would prefer it instead of having the side-cover hanging lower than the chest plate.

If I am allowed to suggest another cool option part, I wouldn't mind a set of medium-sized wings for Battroid mode. Unfortunately I find Bandai's official offerings to either be to big or to small for my taste.

Some progress after a long time (my mother's health problems). I finished painting the parts manufactured so far. In principle I finished the pieces with a shiny finish, but they did not look good together with the HMR, I think the matt varnish looks better and does not mark differences in the appearance with the VF-1. I hope you enjoy the images! regards

Very nice paint job, thank you for the update!  Best wishes from all of us for a speedy recovery of you mother, and hope she's feeling better. ;)

Thank you all for your support! The paint job is not the best, but I learned a lot in this first attempt so the following insurance will come out better. It is quite difficult to paint because the size of the pilot is to small, but I still think it looks much better than the one made by Bandai. Now I'm going to focus on the side blankets and make some copies of these finished pieces. Greetings to all!
