Valkyrie Hunter D Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 The original fire has died and gone, but the riot inside moves on. Godspeed C.C. Quote
Convectuoso Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 I'm so sad about his departure. A great musician, but above all, a great person. I was lucky enough to see him live a couple of times. Quote
505thAirborne Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 RIP Chris Cornell, thank you for all the amazing music. Quote
TehPW Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 I watched a video of his final performance (with my wife) this morning... Did he not appear UNWELL? Lethargic? He was clearly suffering from something and I don't think it was alcoholic or drugs... Quote
Big s Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 He had been giving interviews about recent drug problems and talked a bit about rehab, but I think it's a bit soon to say what the real reason was for his suicide. Whatever the reason, he will be greatly missed. Quote
Mog Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 One of the most distinctive and unique-sounding voices of the grunge era. Gonna miss that soulful howl. Quote
Mommar Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 5 hours ago, Big s said: Loved his non grunge stuff as well. His non-grunge stuff showed off his real vocal talents a lot better. Quote
myk Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Drugs again? I wish I could understand how all of that talent, money and fame would somehow lead you to narcotics and then your doom. Regardless, I loved his work and I'm shocked that he's dead at 52. Godspeed, man... Quote
Mommar Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Looks like they updated it to be suicide. He hung himself. Quote
Marzan Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 I can't believe it. It seems that all the voices of my teenage years have been taken way too early from us. Cobain, Layne Staley, Scott Weiland and now Chris Cornell. The latter really hits me more because I thought he'd gotten over his demons, specially at age 52. What a sad, sad day. Quote
