Frogze Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Thanks everyone! Reïvaj> Surprisingly it was much easier than I had expected, I just added the YF-21 after every other battroid was set and it let me take a couple shots before starting the domino effect... Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I like that blue valk group pic. I noticed from the exif data that your new camera is a D7000, right? Hope you're enjoying it. I love using mine. Quote
aceoftherebellion Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Seconding on the blue Valk group shot! I love when people take group shots of similar mechs like that, it really shows how well these toys come together I think. Quote
mass driver Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Sweet Mospeada display. I also love the Southern Cross hovertank. Southern Cross needs more love... Quote

MichaelS Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 I still wonder how kicker bugets for his display! Quote
Kicker773 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Will keep that in mind Jenius...if they are still available later on. I've committed to a fleet of valks coming in soon. Quote
Benson13 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 I still wonder how kicker bugets for his display! I'm gonna say it has something to do with an education, a good job, and an extremely loving and understanding wife. Quote
Kicker773 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 It was a long and hard road of studying and working extra hours and having a high school sweetheart marry you even for my faults and weird hobby I am extremely lucky....I did get the question last night of what is the most expensive toy I have bought or own. I was at a loss for words... Told her I had to check the inventory lol Quote
Jasonc Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Those VMF Minmay's have got to be up there. Quote
Shaorin Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 just finished some more detail work on this dilapidated old POS; Quote
Kicker773 Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 You gotta get that bad boy dirty with some weathering.. Quote
aceoftherebellion Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 It looks good, man! I just got one of these recently myself. Maybe sometime down the line I'll do the same Quote
Raptor One Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 There have been some fantastic displays show here lately, great job on the missile effects, Benson! At some point I was tempted to pick up a 1/48 for that purpose and I was thinking of trying to do a missile effect with optic fiber wires and clear putty then I also got a 1/48 model kit to replace the 1J head with Hasegawa's 1/48 which looks a bit better to me and also features more details. But I'm just too lazy I guess Here are some pics from my brand new camera : All those blue valks look really nice together. I was planning on getting a bunch of Blue and white valks and creating a fictional "Blue Reaper" black ops squadron. This pic has given me more motivation Quote
ultraman zoffy Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Only a few bits of Macross in here since I'm on Valk Hiatus until the RVF-25 drops, but here's a shot of everything my wife and in-laws added to my collection over the last 2 days. The joy of looking at all this is tempered by the fact that I have no idea how I'm going to display it all... lol. Luckily my wife agreed that we need to add a retail-style countertop glass display case to the toy room since I got her a ton of stuff for the holidays. =) Quote
Benson13 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Whatever you do, do not go on that wife swap tv show. Quote
jvmacross Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Whatever you do, do not go on that wife swap tv show. To heck with wife swap.....how about swapping those awesome inlaws! Quote
Benson13 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 After what my in law did to my collection a few weeks ago, I'm all for it. Quote
Kicker773 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 When my father in law brought his friend over to fix our kitchen faucet he was telling his friend about my room and tried to go in there. Luckily mother in law was looking out and told us ahead of time to lock it lol. Quote
Valkyrie Magnus Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 That reminds me I have to put a lock on my hobby room door so know one can come in anytime when I am out. Quote
ultraman zoffy Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Got some new display cases for our toy room and finally unpacked my Macross Quarter... I'm digging this toy a lot. =) Quote
Mechapilot77 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 what display case is that in that top picture (the bottom two pics appear to be modified detolfs) Quote
ultraman zoffy Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 what display case is that in that top picture (the bottom two pics appear to be modified detolfs) We got these cases at a used retail fixture warehouse, so there isn't really a brand that I can refer you to. The shelving rails were added on as a mod by the original owner in order to turn the case into a front loading type with glass doors; front door glass display cases are pretty hard to find if you don't want to pay for a brand new or custom one, so we lucked out on these. Definitely comb your local used fixture store though, since there's always some hidden gems there. Quote
SuperSenpai Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I just finished scrolling through this entire thread admiring everyone's collections. Very impressive! However, what happened to all of Kicker's photos? I'm dying to see his collection. Reading everyone's compliments of his stash makes me think it is quite a sight to behold. Kicker, any chance those broken links could be fixed? Quote
kanedaestes Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 It's like staring at the Ark of the Covenant, you eyes will burn and your face will melt at the sheer amount and amesomeness that it is as well as instill a sense of envy like you have never had before. Kind of wish Godzilla still kicked around, and there was another one whose name I can't remember, back in the day they had the overall fleet of 1/48s and such as well. Quote

ron5864 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I would not be surprised if Kicker actually owns a toy store as a side job. Quote
Kicker773 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 No toy store, just toy collection. I don't have time running a shop. Plus it's coming to a point for me to get rid of some things to make room. Gotta convert the other room into a guest room/crafts room. Plus whoever hangs out there will still be staring at toys. LoL Quote
NightCastle Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Hey Kicker, you should contact the "Toy Hunter" from the TV show with the same name. It would be fun to watch him freak out about the value of some of the items in your collection. Quote
Kicker773 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 The OG members that I can think of other than Godzilla are Kensei and Sithlord. Quote
