hahaha I want to do the same as above but the idea of additional setup time at start and end of shift is too much hassle because for reason that you mention

Here is my macross/robotech room.  2 custom lit  detolf cases and custom lit desk case.  All with backgrounds applied to the back.

I did something similar with stills from the shows converted to 4x6 pictures that I printed and applied to posterboard. How did you get your backgrounds?

I did a lot of photoshop on the background pics and then uploaded them to poster printshop online.  They print basically any dimension and then just double sided taped them to the back.

@Rogueload - That is a stunning display, especially with the lights and backgrounds. My favorite part is the SDFM case in the center.

Really impressed by your backgrounds....better than what Bandai has done recently with their HMR displays...

I tried the same concept before but much more low-tech than your setup...

 

 

Would you mind sharing the image file you created?  Especially the DYRL space battle background.....I am sure several members would appreciate it....

Here are my backgrounds for the cases.  These pics are dimensions my cases specifically, so you will have to shrink or expand the pic to meet your case's width or height.  If you have a detolf all of them will fit perfect besides the space one.  Enjoy!
