Question. I redid my "Low Viz" Shelf.

Which of the 1/60's should I put in Batroid? Or should I leave them in super sweet low viz squadron mode?

I'm leaning toward the Roy Low Viz.

Don't buy the light mates, they eat batteries like a fat kid in a cake factory.

I bought a set, and now they just sit in a box. It'll cost you more in batteries than

Just buying wired LED's.

That looks so cool! Definitely gonna try this!

Cool! Are you planning on posing them like their trying to cross each other while flying? Can't find a proper snapshot but this is where their fighting on EP4. Anyways, great display. ;)

I was thinking about that when I saw the pic too. Haha. Do that cross flying scene hazray. Definitely will look awesome.

That's my end goal, I'm just trying to figure a way to pose them but still keeping the strings/stand hidden as much as possible. Here's some possible choices, with this back drop.

following Gakken85 & hazray13 lead, I thought I would give this a whirl myself!

hung up my DYRL Hikaru VF-1A with some fishing line (was all I had) in a 'comin in hot n fast' gerwalk approach pose! I think it looks cool! Still gotta perfect the angle and adjust the lengths of line but this is a fairly good starting point!

Didn't realize how much of a pain in the @55 fishing line was to handle especially tying small knots.. takes me back to my childhood days hanging up my model fighter planes in my bedroom! hehe!

Will definitely do a few more like this! Let me know what you guys think! here are some happy snaps! :D

I just tied the fishing line into loops and hooked them over the shelf supports in each corner. They are very secure!

oh yeah you got the same cabinets!

Sweet!!! I'm picking up some cabinets this weekend for my valks, going to have some gerwalk poses in there now. Thanks for the idea. Yeah, I need to work on my a knots, need to find one that will be secure but still allow me to tweak the tension to adjust angles. I saw that 3m is making clear mini-hooks with clear tape, this will help with getting better line pulls. Let the games begin!!

Might have to check out that 3M stuff! My cousin works for 3M actually so I might get him to look into if for me!

I can't remember how to tie the adjustable knots that I made years ago when I had my old planes on display.. although I used string not fishing line so im not sure if you could do the same with it.. I was able to always adjust the flight angles of my models but I don't think I can use the same concept in the display cabinet as my planes were just hooked up directly above to the ceiling and not from side to side like I have just done with the VF-1.. might have to do some research on it.

Was just messing around with a Kakizaki in fighter mode in an attempt to make a flying pose with the fishing line but I just cant seem to nail it.. I didn't want to move it to the middle of the shelf. I like it in the corner.

ok, sweet! Might give that a try this weekend. I had to have my dad help me tie the knots when I has a teenager to hang my plastic model airplanes from the ceiling cause I couldn't do it!

Looks cool spanner!

Usually I tie a loop, leave just enough room to get the end through the loop again, and pull that tight... I think.

I pull the line on both sides before I set the valk on it to test the knot.

The hard part, to me is guessing the room I need. I should measure haha.

Thanks! it was a tricky but with a combination of a little guess work and holding the line with one hand and placing the valk with the other got a rough idea of where I wanted it to sit. I have since dropped the nose down about 5mm. Just enough to make it more balanced / natural looking pose.

Well, it's probably time for me to post my setup. Apologies for the image heavy post. My partner is gracious enough to let me indulge in the basement, but she's nixed anything upstairs, so the lighting is somewhat difficult :)

Very clean and well done. I need to get my Low viz Camo into Batroid stat. I like him like that! :D

Also... I gotta get a super ostrich soon :D I like that shelf the best.

Are you using fishing wire or string?

I'm using monofilament fishing wire. The Elintseeker shelf is my favorite too. I have an idea to customize the FAST packs on that DYRL VF-1A CF into the green arrows squadron, but I need to do some coordinating to make it happen.

Thanks very much.

I quite like the warm light, I'll take some pictures of it later in the dark to show the difference.

I like the neutral colour, anything else is a bit in your face when looking at the room on the whole.

I did see the colour changing ones but went cheap lol.

I bought a set of the color changing dioders from ikea by mistake for my single detolf downstairs. The brightest setting that should be white listed on the dial is blue. The 5 detolfs i have upstairs have the standard dioder with the warm light and you can see everything better. I'm not a fan of the variable dioder. It could be cool for some type of accent but I don't think it executes for the light I want to show a display. Good call grabbing the standards old man and the white detolf looks great.

Thanks man! I'll post better quality pics next time.

Great display Corey!

I should try this fish line method when I get more Valks, but I really like taking them out once in a while to play (repose) them.

Btw, have to ask since you guys are starting to put your valks on a fish/nylon line. Do you guys put something in between the line and your valk? Like a small cloth or thin paper to the contact area? Or you guys just lay the valk directly to the line? Thanks. :)
