chyll2 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 that room, it is like you are in a museum Quote

Reïvaj Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 that room, it is like you are in a museum But... That's Macross the Museum!!!! That's why! Quote
Tochiro Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 that room, it is like you are in a museum Which is why the exhibit was called Macross The Museum perhaps? ^^; Quote
Mechapilot77 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I like how the valks are displayed on the wall. woah that looks really cool but expensive. also seems like it'd ba bitch to take one out and swoosh it across the room. lol Quote
chyll2 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 @Reïvaj andTochiro i didnt know that it is really a museum thanks for pointing it out Quote
Reïvaj Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 @Reïvaj andTochiro i didnt know that it is really a museum thanks for pointing it out We must recognize that you were quite insightful. Quote

Vagabond Elf Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I haven't bought Macross toys in ages... but looking for characters for a Transformers photocomic I do, I rediscovered it. With a couple new arrivals having shown up, I thought I'd share: Quote
mechaninac Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Bandai really needs to re-release the Frontier DX VB-6... that dynamic pose truly shows how it puts Yamato's Koenig to shame. Quote
Scyla Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 (edited) Or even better a Renewal VB-6 with landing gear and cockpit. Edited February 22, 2014 by Scyla Quote
mechaninac Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 better yet, a 1/60 VB-6 That would be EPIC in size, weight, gimmicks, price, cost of shipping, tentency for stressing/looseness of joints, shelf -- heck, room corner -- hogging presence!... Bring it! Quote
happy_spike Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) I posted the start of my work desktop fighter squadron a while back and said I planned to expand it. Well I have and I've gone from 3 fighters to um... lots (16). Edited February 25, 2014 by happy_spike Quote
jvmacross Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I cobbled together some chain bases I purchased from Skullmilitia recently........they look small separately, but bulk-up pretty good when combined to accommodate the 1/60 VFs.... Quote

Bring it! man it would be awesome. The bandai monster is shy of 1/100 i think by just a touch (yamato's is larger and is listed as a 1/100)...i can't imagine how awesome a 1/60 would be. it'd obviously need some heavy duty joints etc. shelf presence would be awesome. jvmacross Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Your hanger display looks great! Yeah, really cool! Wow, amazing display, congratulations! Thanks! I was trying to go for the crowded carrier hangar bay look like depicted in these pics.... ....or maybe due to the different era VF's....it's more like a NUNS VF Museum.......... Quote
Matt Random Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 The first picture is what immediately came to mind when I say your display. I like that you took the picture through the gantry in order to evoke that cramped feeling. Quote
SaitouSad Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 that display is sick!I wanted to get some chain bases myself for a different project (ThreeA's Metal Gear Rex), but the costs of getting so many can be a bit prohibitive.Wish I had the space to do diorama displays like these. Quote
jvmacross Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Printed out some backgrounds to add to the effect..... Quote
NightCastle Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I think the second and third from the last look the most like there is an actual starfield outside the hangar. Nice shots! Quote
jvmacross Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) I think the second and third from the last look the most like there is an actual starfield outside the hangar. Nice shots! Agreed....plain space full of stars works the best....was trying to get one with a small bit of the earth or planet...but couldn't find one that I liked.... Is there a hold in the deck to space? Did you mean "hole"? yeah....I was going for the fighter bay area of something like the Prometheus looking out into space.....like near an elevator or deployment area... This was my inspiration......a couple of my favorite Macross ilustrations of all time.... Edited February 27, 2014 by jvmacross Quote
Reïvaj Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 It really looks great. What size is the whole assembly? Quote
