Big Papecraft VF-31

so for the next few weeks i'll be building a big VF-31 

right now i have this much done. 

since i need to get some jumbo craft sticks i have to stop for now. i'll be at my anime con in fort smith AR. this will play music (mostly macross) and LEDs. i dont know how big this will be but i can tell it will be big.

well i said it was going to be big. well i was right, just this part right here is over 28in long and i still have parts to print and build. i think this will be around 5-6 feet long!

is this free? I want to have a go at papercraft but I want to start something smaller. Can this be scaled down?

Yeah, i just googled Macross paper craft and found it, I am pretty sure it can be scaled down.

the guy that made this files r giving them out for free. i'll have to talk to him and see if he is ok with my giving my modded files out. this is the video he made 

 

now for my update. so just all this is 4.1 feet. to big. im rescaling this plane and going to rebuild it.

i'll have other update in a few hours.

You could make an RC of it, too bad I don't have the time for it anymore, but will definitely save this for future time.

well after rebuilding a few times over i got it to the size i feel safe with, she will have a 2.5 feet wing span. idk how long she will be but she will still be big. this time im starting with the body/wings first

WOW! That is crazy HUGE! Like you need to put ducted fans into it and make it R/C! Will the paper support all that weight? It's starting to look thin already. - MT

The way the parts breakdown and colouring go on this, it almost looks transformable!

idk what u mean by "panel lines" every thing i see is printed onto the paper im using

well 9 hours of work. man some parts just take so long to build. i also got 100 or so blue LEDs to for this build of mine

Wow, great work, and truly a SUPER size! I know some have mentioned it before, but that would be awesome as an RC plane! Providing it had a stiff enough fame and a sturdy finish over the paper.

Love it. Even with the distractions from the background...

well got some more work done. added one engine with LEDs. i think it should be about 4 more days before its done

heres how big it is next to my little scale model witch on top

now as u can tell the engine r off. sadlly i cant do any thing about it, but what i learned is, build both engines first then add then at the same time to make it look right. i'll do that if i can get a Messer skin for this papercraft model

i realy do love how well dont this model is.

now i got a 4k video to upload. i'll post it when its done

Damn, that is nice.  You should fill it with expansion foam to give it some extra structure and rigidity.  Then get together with some RC guys and slap some ducted fans into it, get her flying.
