seti88 Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 We have a new playa in valkyrie merchandising! Looks like a Non scale vf-1 statue is being developed by prime studios.. http://www.taghobby.com/archives/174330 Typically their statues are quite detailed, however arent cheap. Its also robotech. Whats the interest level? Quote
seti88 Posted March 10, 2017 Author Posted March 10, 2017 (edited) They must have used a mold from toynami and scaled it! Details may come out looking great, like the panel lining and the nozzle etchings... Leg fin's look tiny though... Edited March 10, 2017 by seti88 Quote
no3Ljm Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Nah. Easy pass for me. I'm still happy with my Revoltech Super VF-1J. And this is nothing compared to that. Quote
peter Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 (edited) I see the folks at Robotech are still of the opinion that a camera lens (in the head) should emit light rather than absorb it. I remember when they released one of their earlier “Veritech” toys with the stupid LED head unit gimmick, the window-lickers were all over it like fat kids in a candy store, lol! Duymon Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 (edited) If it's not cheaper than the Hi-metal Max 1J that just came out it's a super easy pass since the Hi-metals can easily do that same pose Edited March 10, 2017 by Duymon Quote
seti88 Posted March 11, 2017 Author Posted March 11, 2017 (edited) This isnt a toy, its a statue. In fact has there been a valkyrie statue before? Not too sure if its gonna be lighted either those could just be CAD highlights. *correction* looks likely it could be highlight areas where LED point could be used. I just saw their bumblebee transformners statues lighted. With statues, details are upmost priority, so expect a lot of details on this one, especially since its prime 1. Wait, did I just say non-transforming? Because this one is basically just a statue, right? So I should say if it's not cheaper than the Revoltech VF-1J that came out like 10 years ago it's a very super easy pass for me since the Revoltechs can easily do that same pose. And here's a proof: Quote

LOL i would consider that a sovenier trinket. btw, that revoltech would look tiny next to a statue. but i get the point that if its the pose your after then a revoltech may suffice. Am not a prime 1 fan or even a fan of statues in general, but am quite excited to see what prime 1 would come up with for this. A statue is a display piece and could come close to everyone's talk abt scale of 1/20 scale! ok.. maybe not close but still much larger than anything we have at the moment... I honestly dont know how tall this would be but their optimus prime statues were 27inches tall! Edited March 11, 2017 by seti88 Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Interest level? Zero. Zippo. Zilch. Nil. Nada. Once Robotech makes a better Veritech than any Valkyrie ever produced, then and only then will Robotech get my moolah. Quote
Major Focker Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Prime-1 statues are typically huge centerpieces, think 1/3 human scale. if this comes with an interesting backdrop or base, i might bite. not really high on the want list though Quote

Yeah, only those morons at Harmony Gold would do something like that, and only those Robotech-loving "window-lickers" would want a toy that did that. Quote
jvmacross Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Bandai's vaporware beats HG's vaporware any day of the week.... Quote
pengbuzz Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Hmmm.... I just built a 1/72 Strike VF-1S, and I have a 1/72 VF-1J on the table right now. I think I'm gonna pass on this, seeing as also, I'm broke. Quote
Major Focker Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 OT. here's an example of a Prime 1 statue: let's see if they apply the same attention to detail on the VF-1 i know it's not really apples to apples, but i'm starting to warm up to the idea of a VF-1 statue Quote
electric indigo Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 They added a lot of detail to their Evangelion statues, without straying from the original design. Looks great, but the prices are far out there. http://www.taghobby.com/archives/173261 Quote
seti88 Posted March 13, 2017 Author Posted March 13, 2017 (edited) Dat evangelion is dope but again the price is for hard core collectors... I do like however how they manage to have separate heads, arm configurations and hands that could be swapped out. For a statue that's bringing more variety into a fixed pose. The TF starscream, its so far altered from the comics that i dont like it at all (blame the whole TF movie franchise if you will), but for comparisons sake....anticipating perhaps the valk boosters to be lighted up would be nice... Cant wait to see what they have planned for the valk.. Edited March 13, 2017 by seti88 Quote

UN Spacy Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Cause that's what I want in my variable fighters. Quote
seti88 Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 Variable here would mean 3 statues of different modes Quote
seti88 Posted July 22, 2017 Author Posted July 22, 2017 Oh Oh....Prime1 studio fighter mode vf-1 statue in development by the sounds of it.... Quote
Podtastic Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 If this were a detailed statue of an SDFM armoured Zentraedi warrior with translucent green visor, or a Bioroid, I would be sore tempted. A mere battroid statue? Nah. Quote
Robotch1985 Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Prime 1 showed 2 teasers of Battleoid and Guardian Mode Veritech Quote
Major Focker Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 eh? i thought these were non-transformable? Quote

JetJockey Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Too bad they aren't making a VF-1S. At least not yet. I never liked the head sculpt on this version. I do like to have transforming vehicles be transformable in toy / model form. But Prime 1's Evangelion statues look really good. I expect the same of this one with a detailed base. Quote
seti88 Posted August 24, 2017 Author Posted August 24, 2017 It looks like there would be 3 different displays and those details are gonna be incredible. Not really into static displays either but after seeing some of prime-1's irl, these valk displays are gonna be quite exciting for a valk fan... Quote
Robotch1985 Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I am getting one for each mode. Been collecting statues for 11 years and have waited for Robotech statues. Quote
Chronocidal Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Might be overly nitpicky, but you'd think, being group so renowned for their attention to detail, they'd use actual source material instead of making up their own panel lines... Quote
