seti88 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Quite a nice build of the cheyenne 2..see if u can spot the mini gatling gun! Quote
mechaninac Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Wow! That's brilliant. Come on Bandai, get busy creating a Hi-Metal R version of this... STAT! And Hasegawa, Wave, what are you sitting on your hands for? 1/72 kits... please... Quote
Xigfrid Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I am too busy to make this one, I would love a DX toy out of it... come on it was aired in Delta! Quote
wmkjr Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Awesome. I love custom builds. That mini gun blended in with the leg pretty good. Quote
seti88 Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 The logical base kit would of course be the tomahawk but it's so heavily modified its mind boggling which base kit it could be grown out of... Quote

wmkjr Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I was referring to just this pic only. The left leg. Quote

Can't seem to reply without my previous quote in my phone, so apologies (tried six times now). Anyway, that looks like a crotch gun to me. Not leg. Anyone else see that? Quote
wmkjr Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 I should've been more clearer. It's the mini crotch gun but where it's positioned in that photo makes it look like it's a part of the left leg at a quick glance. Quote
mickyg Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Ah! Yes, that makes perfect sense. Sorry, totally missed that. Quote

Spotted it way back in Macross Zero with the original Cheyenne: http://monkeybacon.mywebcommunity.org/Stats/Statistics/Cheyenne/Cheyenne.php (ref: anti-personnel machinegun). It's not as clear in the screengrabs from MF, but it's there: http://monkeybacon.mywebcommunity.org/Stats/Statistics/Cheyenne/CheyenneII.php Quote

I dont think any of the current destroids were used as a base model for this one. The only part resembling them is the lower leg plates and even they look... wrong... for the Tomahawk/Phalanx/Defender legs. Quote
mickyg Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Yeah, it was different enough that I never really warmed to it. Too skinny or insectoid looking or something. But given the passage of time, it sorta started to grow on me. Nothing to do with the codpiece weapon though, I promise. Quote

Its a Cod Piece weapon... highly effective STI defence Originally, you got the Cheyenne 1st version in Macross Zero, the Cheyenne II is supposedly just an upgraded version with nuclear engine but since the two franchises were made differently, they look a bit different. I think that in Zero the Cheyenne looks buffier. In delta, the Workroid is 80% à Cheyenne. Quote
NZEOD Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 so the Workroid model could be modded into a Cheyenne? Quote
MechTech Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 That's a good build! Was that a resin kit? I think I missed that one. - MT Quote

If I were Bandai and made molds, I would do small addons to screw on the Workroid parts to convert them. As I use 3D printing and it only costs me time to edit the current Workroid file into an optimized Cheyenne II, that what I would do. MT: It looks like a kit made of cut plastic board, which make sense because there are very little curves in this model. This is only guesses since I didn't know of this kit either. Quote
MechTech Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Thanks! Great scratch building if that's the case. - MT Quote
VF-1A Grunt Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Great model! What issue is that from? I don't see a date on any of the scanned pages, unless I missed it. Thanks! Quote
seti88 Posted January 24, 2017 Author Posted January 24, 2017 Its from the february 2017 issue 387 of model graphix. https://hlj.com/product/MDGMAG1702 Quote
