So, is this just the yf-19 mold with fast packs? Earlier in the thread, it seemed like this was a new mold.

The plane is the YF-19 mold. The decals and Fast packs, including the new VF-25-style boosters on the wing roots, are brand new.

Unless I'm mistaken, aren't the Hasegawa vernier thrusters accurate to the movie? They aren't bell-shaped in DYRL. Unless I'm missing something.

Maybe the VF-25 comparison pic wasn't the best idea. I think what mickyg means is that on the 1/72 kits, the verniers are too shallow; they look kind of like just little circle molds pressed onto the kit. If you look at the 1/48 kit, there's more definition to them, and even though they're still fairly flush with the rest of the Fast packs, they sink deeper into the Fast packs, meaning a more three-dimensional appearance.

For comparison (1/72 on top, 1/48 on bottom):

Yeah, the 1/48 is nice.... but at the same time I wouldn't consider the 1/72 'inaccurate'.

The 1/48 was released much later and is a larger scale so it's bound to feature some improvements.

Reminds me I've been planning to grab a 2nd 1/48 Super/Strike. So I can do one as a super and one as a strike. Naturally.

Exactly this - sorry I didn't attach pictures to better illustrate what I was talking about.  The vernier parts (NOT the main rearward facing booster nozzles) are really shallow and remind me of a tea cup saucer, whereas the ones on the 1/48 kit (and every toy I can think of) are more bowl shaped.

I haven't inspected the DYRL stills or even watched the movie lately to see which one is really accurate though.

All 3 are backordered.  Is that right?

Sounds right. Previously they were listed as OOP.

They aren't new items so they can't really be on 'pre-order'. And they aren't in stock yet.

So Backordered pending renewed availability seems right.

At least they aren't on 'order stop' yet.

HLJ is taking orders for the VE-1, VT-1, and VF-19EF/A again.

VT - https://hlj.com/product/HSG7

VF - https://hlj.com/product/HSG65836

VF-19EF/A ==> Available on November 29th.

VT-1 & VE-1 ==> Available on October 21st (I hate the fact of having spent tons of money on these two out at the surplus market, and now Hase has them back @ $20 Ea. or below. Aaaarrrrggghhh..., OK suck it up and pre-order both ;) ).

Someone has the VT-1 kit on sale here for $25, so you might want to check that out. If I can find it again I'll link you.

Just paid for my VF-19EF/A at HLJ. It's still in stock there (as well as the VE/VT-1), and Amiami are still taking preorders. So if you want yours, now's the time to get it.
