shogun221 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 I want this to be good, I really do. If Toynami's Voltron offerings are any indication, I expect it to be an....adequate toy that is monstrously overpriced. Quote
Hikaru1234567890 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 (edited) Glad to see this coming out in 1/2000! would have preferred 1/3000, But oh well, can't complain about the size. The company on the other hand, WORST possable company to be making this. Would have loved for it to be Arcadia, or Bandai, but no, don't even want to bother if the prototype looks shitty and all cheap. Knowing Toynami, quality will be far from our demanding standards looking at the 1/100 VF-1 line they have going. Edited December 1, 2016 by Hikaru1234567890 Quote
jenius Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 It doesn't say Toynami on there... It might be the KitzConcept company... Toynami might just be the distributor. Quote
Universe1010 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 (edited) Cool. I'm still waiting on bandai for the dyrl version which they showed a while ago. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2015-10-29/bandai-teases-giant-26-inch-sdf-1-macross-14-inch-vf-1-valkyrie-toys/.94775 Edited December 1, 2016 by monishb Quote
505thAirborne Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 It looks like Hasegawa's TV SDF-1 kit. Won't belive this one til I see it. Quote
UN Spacy Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 UGH...why I waste my money on Yamato's. I'm sure this version will be much better. Quote
Hikaru1234567890 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 It doesn't say Toynami on there... It might be the KitzConcept company... Toynami might just be the distributor. Huh, your right, must have read something very wrong or I'm blind! Quote
mechaninac Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 It's at least something worth keeping an eye on in case it doesn't become just another case of vapourware, like the MP Shadow Beta... Quote
Lorindor Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 KitzConcept certainly has huge plans with this, the 1:55 Monster and the whole rumoured 1:55 line. I just sure hope that they also deliver in the end. Quote
Lorindor Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 (edited) Double-post. Mods, please remove. Edited December 1, 2016 by Lorindor Quote
sh9000 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Damn I wish Bandai or Arcadia would be the first to make a large scale renewal TV SDF-1 toy. Quote
TNT1120X Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 It doesn't say Toynami on there... It might be the KitzConcept company... Toynami might just be the distributor. Praying it's not Toynami making this. So, at 1/2000, we're talking about 60.5 cm / 23.8 in.... wow. I'm guessing it will be fairly detailed, and it's going to be about 99% thin plastic and mostly hollow inside allowing for low weight for shipping and easy standing in upright/attack mode. The outside box will be huge like Takara's Metroplex or Hasbro's SDCC Super Helicarrier from a few years back. I'll be surprised if this goes for less than $399 US. Quote
Mommar Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 I hope it isn't shaped like it is in that image there... Quote
wmkjr Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 (edited) UGH...why I waste my money on Yamato's. I'm sure this version will be much better. You are a very lucky person to own a 1/2000 Yamato. I wish I could've gotten one earlier. Hopefully the upcoming one doesn't look like that image. Edited December 1, 2016 by wmkjr Quote
jenius Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 It might just be a hunk of vinyl... or more likely, vaporware. Quote
SuperSenpai Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 (edited) Guys, you forgot to read the fine print. It only grows to 1:2000 scale after you soak it in water. Edited December 1, 2016 by SuperSenpai Quote
sh9000 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Pre-order now!!!..... I wouldn't mind owning that. Something to put my HMR's on. Quote
yman1437 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Hm...Dec 16th in HK, can't wait to see some pictures They are DUE to make something good right? Right? Quote

yman1437 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Was thinking more about HG..ha..😉 They already released that SD Roy VF-1S, right? That is something good, yeah? Quote
Boobytrap Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Really hope this doesn't disappear into the ether and is of decent enough quality. SDFM version of the SDF-1 is my favorite and to my knowledge there hasn't been anything close to this scale for it. Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 I dunno, just by that image alone, I think it needs more mass in the front; like larger, longer main cannons. Quote
easnoddy Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 That picture is FUGLY. The booms are about 1/2 the scale they should be. Everything to the rear of them looks okay though. Hopefully this is some sort of placeholder. Quote
no3Ljm Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Was thinking more about HG..ha.. Ha! If you put it like that, then I guess everyone will agree that the only thing they're 'due' by making something good and right is to let go of the copyright, right? Quote

ScrambledValkyrie Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 I wouldn't mind owning that. Something to put my HMR's on. Seriously. Except even with the scale of that thing, you'd never fit all of yours on there! Quote
Chronocidal Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Everything about that photo looks squished/squat. Front, back and middle. Actually, I bet it's an orthographic (non perspective) CAD render. Everything will look off from those, because they aren't foreshortened. Doesn't mean it's right, but it might not be quite as wrong as it looks. Quote
Zinjo Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) Pre-order now!!!..... Considering the "LACK" of imagination from HG, it would not surprise me in the least if this was what the 1/2000 scale SDF-1 is! These guys are the kings of re-issue! Edited December 5, 2016 by Zinjo Quote
jvmacross Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Well....they super-sized the HCM to make the Masterpiece VF-1's... Maybe they will do the same with the Takatoku SDF-1.... Only they'll pick the Henkei as their starting point! Hmmmm....a 1/2000 Henkei SDF-1.....I'd actually buy that! Didn't they supersize the 1/55 VF-1 recently and claimed it was also "coming soon"? Quote
Thessair Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 It may be the cold medicine talking, but I kind of like it. There's a lot of metallic paint on that sucker, though. Quote
Hikaru1234567890 Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Are you readyyyyyyyyyyyy? Don't know what to say....It looks great being that its the TV version. But I'm REALLY turned off with that metallic coating they have going on it. maybe its a Metallic Coating Version or Exclusive? Quote
