Tking22 Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Oh boy, everyone's least favorite Pixar film is getting yet another sequel. Here I am wondering if anyone cares about Incredibles 2. Quote
Petrov27 Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Ha that was remarkably grim preview - they get Zach Snyder to write and direct maybe? Quote
Dynaman Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Oh boy, everyone's least favorite Pixar film is getting yet another sequel. Here I am wondering if anyone cares about Incredibles 2. Incredibles is the one I'm waiting to see. Quote
TangledThorns Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Oh boy, everyone's least favorite Pixar film is getting yet another sequel. Here I am wondering if anyone cares about Incredibles 2. Agreed, Cars 2 was meh but kids eat this up. Quote
no3Ljm Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Why don't we just admit it that we're just getting too old for this? But yeah, the teaser looks serious. And I'm liking it. I'm assuming the event in this teaser happened before Cars 1 since McQueen is not sporting his Cars 2 look? My son will going to like this and for sure after seeing the movie, he will ask me to buy him Cars toy. It's like watching myself years ago. Déjà vu all over again. Quote
Thom Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 (edited) No reason not to. As long as they give us Incredibles 2 as well... Yes, grim beginning to the trailer. Also noted the more 'real' looking effects rather than full cartoonish. Edited November 22, 2016 by Thom Quote
areaseven Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 While it is the weakest of Pixar's film catalog, Cars is their proverbial cash cow in terms of merchandise. As of 2011, Cars raked in over US$10 billion in merchandise sales. And unlike the other titles like Finding Dory, which has toys only during the film's release, Cars toys continue to fill toy shelves 24/7, 365 days a year due to demand from diecast car collectors. jenius Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Is this going to be the story of Ricky bobbie? Quote
areaseven Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Is this going to be the story of Ricky bobbie? Only if it involves a gay French racer. Quote
no3Ljm Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 In short, kids love toy cars. Talking toy cars that is. And it makes business money. Quote
sh9000 Posted November 23, 2016 Author Posted November 23, 2016 I'm sure people still love the Cars ride at California Adventure too. Quote
no3Ljm Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 I'm sure people still love the Cars ride at California Adventure too. Actually, we do. And it's a torture to fall in line and do the FastPass too. So I guess they have the right to produce another one hour and a half of pure toy commercial goodness. Quote

no3Ljm Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 do the single rider line, it's super short compared to the main line. Yup, I know that option but I still have to accompany my 7 year old boy sir. Quote
nhyone Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 Minority here, but I like Cars. Eye candy, pacing and just enough story. Cars 2 was trash, though. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I liked Cars 1 a LOT. I hated Cars 2. Quote
Sildani Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Cars 1 was a real love letter to car culture. Cars 2 was crap, but I did like that Michael Caine played a secret agent, since I think I remember he was originally supposed to play James Bond way back when. Quote

I don't ever recall Caine ever being in the James Bond casting call, but he's no stranger to the spy genre, having played Harry Palmer in the 1965 film The IPCRESS File and two of its sequels, as well as Nigel Powers in Austin Powers in Goldmember. Quote
no3Ljm Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Actually Michael Caine was being considered when Sean Connery left the role. But he was not chosen. And Michael Caine didn't want typecasting in spy films since he previously starred in three Harry Palmer movies. Quote
Knight26 Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 So lightning gets taken out and mentors the new female race car against the car that took him out. Quote
peter Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Lightning is supposed to be a NASCAR based race car right? Quote
no3Ljm Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 ^ Yup. Supposedly. Until he learns how to drift from Doc. Quote
barurutor Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 A quick google search shows Bonnie Hunt (Sally Carrera's voice actor) will be in Cars 3. Quote
Hikuro Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 all of those trailers leave a lot of NOTHING to be desired. Quote
Knight26 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 I don't want this, I want the Planes-3 we were promised before I left Edwards, for which the took all kinds of digital scans and imagery ofInsert other media the area around Edwards AFB as new set piece. Quote
Sildani Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Well that's... dark. As far as Planes 3, what I want is the promise of that first trailer to be fulfilled. You know, they showed all the military jets and a stealth bomber while a Kenny Loggins cover band played and he kept breathing "Yeah". That. Quote
