NZEOD Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 (edited) He even modelled in a Pitching deck! hmmmmm an ES-11B Catseye at the moment of being Arrested... Edited October 21, 2016 by NZEOD Quote
NZEOD Posted October 21, 2016 Author Posted October 21, 2016 weird... well its basically a gorgeously detailed 1/144 f14 with full custom decals on a pitching deck at the moment of the arrestor cable going tight. Has the cable in midair, the full control surfaces all moved in positions, elevators, flaps, ailerons, speed brakes, lead edge slats, under carriage compressed, smoke off the tyres AND engines lit up, AND AND AND the crew braced for the deceleration. vincemoto7 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 The shorter video played, I'm sneaking at work so I'll do a more detailed search at home later. Thanks for posting though NZEOD! Quote
spanner Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 that looks crazy good!! so nicely detailed!! Quote
NZEOD Posted October 21, 2016 Author Posted October 21, 2016 The longer vid is the builders built vid with Topgun music... turn it up loud! Quote
vincemoto7 Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 It won't let me view it, it says it's blocked in my country... Oh well, nothing a little whiskey can't fix!! Quote
Major Focker Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 wonder what he used for the tire smoke Quote
NZEOD Posted October 23, 2016 Author Posted October 23, 2016 (edited) cotton ball filaments. After you have them teased out you VERY lightly spray them with a fixative to hold them in shape. Edited October 23, 2016 by NZEOD Quote
MechTech Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Yeah, the Top Gun music probably got it thrown out for copyright violation. But thanks for sharing the rest we can see. - MT Quote
NZEOD Posted October 23, 2016 Author Posted October 23, 2016 Funny it works in NZ... we have such loose Copyright laws here. Cant even be nailed for torrents without 3 warnings. Quote
NZEOD Posted October 23, 2016 Author Posted October 23, 2016 (edited) The build vid is actually incredible with some of the gimmicks he's used. So, I'll see how I can go about saving it and moving a copy of it to a file dump you can access. He made the padeyes using a Heat Pen and a copper tip with the shape carved into it .And at 1/144 scale the detail is mindblowing! Edited October 23, 2016 by NZEOD Quote
MechTech Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 I thought of machining a stamp for padeyes - in 1/350th scale. Hand or CNC machine stamped. Then I realized I don't have access to nanotechnology. - MT Quote
