NZEOD Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Anyone built one of these? Can I make the foot move - only has to be slightly - if I were to hook it to a servo or vibration motor? I need to model a Glaug laying on its face in the dirt and want to make somethings on it twitch every now and then. So I am hoping the foot has a pin joint and not a solid plate that glues it to the bottom of the leg. Quote
Darth Mingus Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Hey NZEOD, judging from the building instructions: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10034869z/70/1, it looks like it has articulation in the foot. Quote
NZEOD Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 Brilliant! Never thought to look there! The Glaug shall burn! Quote
MechTech Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) Yes, it does move. It can get loose like the old styrene joints do, but I'm sure you're gluing it. Keep us posted! - MT Edited October 19, 2016 by MechTech Quote
NZEOD Posted October 19, 2016 Author Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) the model will be laid out flat on its face or side in a lake of envirotex lite resin, surrounded by fire and twisted metal so i can hide the foot joint if needed. Edited October 19, 2016 by NZEOD Quote
valid Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 there is an articulation but sadly it is very loose in my case it hardly can stand properly Quote
NZEOD Posted October 23, 2016 Author Posted October 23, 2016 mine will be on its face or back with new joints of metal and a bearing to allow the servo to move it rapidly Quote
