Thom Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Now no, this won't have Tom Selleck as the titular star, Thomas Magnum, but will instead focus on his daughter Lily 'Tommy' Magnum. According to the article, her career with Naval Intelligence, having followed in her father's foot steps, was deep-sixed and she is returning to Hawaii to take up her father's PI firm instead. https://www.cnet.com/news/magnum-p-i-sequel-coming-to-abc/ It's still early, and so there's no telling if any original cast will be making appearances, but I have have high hopes for this, as this show was one of my favorites as a kid. Thomas Magnum, the perpetual child-like bachelor solving crimes from the seat of 'his' Ferrari, with his cadre of Army buddies and the 'is he or isn't he Robin Masters,' Higgins. It can't do itself wrong by going right back to the formula that made that show so great. As the article says, there's no word as to whether Tom Selleck will be making a cameo, which really should happen! Selleck does have another show he's doing, but a few guest appearances would be a good thing. Quote
Sildani Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 I have no hopes for this. None. At. All. Betcha they use a Ferrari California, too. Quote
Roy Focker Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 She better have a hairy upper lip or I'm not watching. Quote
505thAirborne Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 As a huge Magnum P.I. fan, as in watched it when it first aired on CBS. I am willing to give this a try. Might suck, may not... will wait and see. Quote
miles316 Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 They better not make Higgins and Mag best friends/Partners like they did Jack Dalton in Mac giver remake. Speakind of TV clasic remakes did any one catch the CGI/Ghost of Jack lord haunting Steve Margarett of H-50 last night? Quote
This Confuses Gamlin Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 She better have a hairy upper lip or I'm not watching. This. So much. Alternatively, the terrifying feeling from the realization that one is now old enough that childhood show nostalgia has set in to the point that news of every remake automatically elicits a response of "NO. STOP." Hmm. Commas are useful. Quote
seti88 Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 When i saw the thread title this immediately ran through my head.. Quote

Chronocidal Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 (edited) Am I the only one disappointed that Bellisarius didn't just milk their own properties, and give us NCIS: Honolulu instead of New Orleans/LA? Magnum would've been great at filling the Gibbs role. Could even have the two ideas merge, just throw in his daughter as an outside contact/repeat cameo role. Dobber Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Did you guys know there was a different theme song originally? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bnHWdGP2ikQ The new one is much better, IMO. Chris Quote
Phobos Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 If my eyes could roll any more, they'd roll out of my head. I hope this dies a very public and painful death, as a message to others who thinks this BS is acceptable. Quote
