Everybody can do with this kit what Bandai was not able to do...

In the first link, that's precisely the modifications which are required! Making a better hip bar and thinning the head! It dos make a huge difference!

I suppose somebody who has experience with Rino 3d modeling and model kit casting could create a longer hip bar to be stamped on Shapeways...

Looks like he did some casting.

And those are really great builds, but I still prefer the sculpt of the Hasegawa static mode kits.

Someone actually was able to make a transformable VF-1 out of the Hasegawa. It looked great, but I can't find it on the interwebs anymore...

Yes, he recasted the 2 hip bars in a single longer bar.

I find the Bandai is better looking, i find the hasegawa's model kits look incoherent. The battroid air intakes in the legs are simply disproportionate, the chest plate looks deformed. The fighter is the opposite, looks like it was conceived as a real non-transforming airplane, it even differs from the kawamori sketches.. but i like the great details hasegawa always put in his model kits.

You can also make a simple hip bar with a skewer, someone "from" MW has done that successfully! My plan was to use Kotobukiya polycaps (ball joints), however this too will require some work, as no "straight out of the box" polycap seems to work!

I was thinking that building a new bar for the hip would not be all that difficult using the kit parts and maybe a piece of the runners.

Wouldn't need to resort to 3 d printing for what looks to be a pretty straight forward scratch job.

I'm glad to see that someone appreciates Bandai Plamo Macross kits as much as I do! :-)

Yes, i appreciated it mainly for the design. I m going to do a vf-1a next in mass production scheme, but unluckily the vf-1a misses the optional part wich fix the dorsal plate to the chest plate in battroid..
