ValkAddict Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 Thanks @505thAirborne for the info! Sorry for missing the obvious. Looks like I can only order white colored sets from here (wish they had cream color), https://www.shapeways.com/product/DV3KRQCTN/kanzen-henkei-1-60-scale-fighter-variable-hinge?optionId=3675956 Quote

Also, I've used 4 sets of these shoulder replacements and they almost appear to be a bit stronger than the factory parts. Here's the backside of the set, using the site's 3D viewer: 3 hours ago, ValkAddict said: Thanks @505thAirborne for the info! Sorry for missing the obvious. Saw them in the "how to" video, then went to the 3D viewer and flipped the parts over to make sure they were there. Quote
ValkAddict Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Thanks @Anasazi37 !! D'oh, guess I missed the obvious. Quote

I bought a used Yamato 1/60 VF-1D with broken shoulders and need replacement shoulder hinges. TIA for any help. EDIT: Also, the photo of the part does not seem to look exactly like the broken shoulder hinge. The 3D artist who did that is a long time member of this forum — @VF5SS. Quote
Radioguy Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Has anyone designed a Yamato 1/48-compatible VF-1D head for printing? Quote

I would hope it's out there.. I was able to score a resin cast one , along with the rest of the 1-D conversion kit. some years ago. I still need to get to that project.. Quote

Radioguy Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 True, any VF-1A/J/S with a 1D head would be a mongrel without the right cockpit, but I'd grab one if a full kit weren't on offer. Quote
Spiff Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 It's funny, funny that I say funny. I finally ordered a pair of shoulders for my V2 VF-1D. I just got an email today 12/30/23, from Shape ways that my order is being sent. Now if I only knew where my Yamato V2 VF-1d is. Moving sucks from one state to another, so you know. I have thought of buying these for a long time and I finally pulled the trigger, yeah me! Quote
Chronocidal Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 (edited) Don't know if anyone has need of these, but had forgotten this topic exists when I went to make them. Still a rough test, and I think at least two people are trying prints, but my first test print seemed to fit well enough. Edited December 31, 2023 by Chronocidal Quote
Sildani Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Yep, had my local library print them out in resin. Too big to fit initially, but some sanding brought them mostly into line. I suspect the tabs in back are too large to fit into the slots, but more sanding will do them no doubt. Many thanks Chronocidal!! Quote
Chronocidal Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Good to see them working! I definitely oversized the tabs, since I figured it would be easier to sand them down than build them up. Quote

Uxi Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Taking down Gamlin VF-22S for the clear Yamato stand (think it came with YF-21) but looks like the lock piece must have disappeared or popped off. Anyone know of a replacement? Quote

Now that'd be a decent size project. I always steered away from the 1/48 Yamatos for odd reasons, but I wonder how many would be interested in that since the DX is about the same size, and kinda fits that role. BTW, @505thAirborne, is that Eunha in your avatar pic? If so, she is, IMO, one of the top 5 most beautiful women in the world. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Quote

That is the one, the only real-life Galactic Fairy, Eunha of Gfriend & VIVIZ. (Special shout out to Isa of STAYC, she's in my top 5.) As for the idea of a new 1/48 VF-1D conversion kit, I have a DX VF-1D and despite all that the Bandai toy offers, I still prefer the Yamato 1/48 for Fighter mode. I'd happily keep my DX in Gerwalk or Battroid but strictly keep the Yamato in fighter. Quote
rsvictor1976 Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Since Shapeways went out of business, is there an alternate site/method to getting those replacements shoulders for the 1/60 Yamatos? Quote
