Nice! In my case, I brought stuff from home to the office because I have no more space to store or display at home! Quote

Help me find a 1/48 Roy that won't cost me my left nut, lol! I'm actually in the Victoria/Fraserview area and half a minute drive from S.E. Marine Drive! I'll PM you sometime soon. There is a Roy listed Manda - https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1097459635&ref=list Note: It's the crappy version actually. http://anymoon.com/blog/?p=178 There's that list of all the 1/48 variants half way down the page. Edit: I know of two TFW2005 members in the Richmond area and one of them I chat every now and then (plus we have the same interests in 1/6th figures besides TFs). There's one on Fleabay with strike pack for $294 CAD, but it's yellowed to hell.... Quote
rdrunner Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 How can you tell it’s the crappy (1.0?) version? What should be the cover art for the better version of the -1S? Quote
jenius Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 You wouldn't be able to tell from the box, it was only issued once as a 1.0 and at least four other times in the same box with the improvements. Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Wasn’t the Velcro on the flap lid an indicator of the first run? Quote
jenius Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Yes, if you can get a picture of the inside lid, that's the best way to judge. Quote
Kicker773 Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Only the Roy and Hikaru were reissued like Jenius said at least three or four times with the latest version having new art boxes. Quote

Thanks! I remember visiting your guide to check the inside of the nosecone on mine to see if it’s v1.1, when I got my 1/48 around 10 years ago! Quote

My guess is Prince Rupert (or are you closer to the BC/Alberta border)? @Kicker773 - So I take it that you have the skills to "Tetris-ize" all those boxes and the surrounding areas to the best of your abllity. Nightbat Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 It's a shame the 1/48 line is dead, and also that the 1/60 line has reached 1/48 prices, so even if they decide to scale up again, it would not entice me to get more Quote
spacemanoeuvres Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 @Nightbat Let’s see that how that resolve holds up after perusing this thread Quote
Dirtyboy Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 My humble collection of my 1/48's. I switched over to other stuff. But personally I love this size and the gimmicks on the 1/48 series. Will display again once i settle down. My Low Vis has the velcro front flap. Quote

borgified Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Looks like a fair amount of us have a 1/48 Low Vis 1a in our collection. I doubt that the DX VF-1 will carry on with the odd paint schemes like the Yammie version. Quote

nightmareB4macross Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 (edited) Thanks guys. I am m still customizing just not as fast or as much as before. The VF-1X X-Ray version is created from the poster found in the Gold Book. This is truly a labor of love and lots of work has gone into keeping the integrity and transformation. The picture attached shows the process to lay out the frame with blue painter’s tape. The cuts are done with a Dremel to bore through each panel and delicately cut by hand with a dull XActo knife. It takes forever but it looks really cool! Tha Glaug is a MLZ22 Kit, and so is the Regult. Both have amazing details and measure well in true scale with the 1/48s. I hope to share more in the coming months. Edited December 4, 2018 by nightmareB4macross VF-X1 to VF-1X Quote
