The carrier (named Asuka) is in 1/1000 scale. The Deusler III (upgraded Darold-class battle carrier) and the green colored Guipelon-class carrier that were revealed along with it are part of the Mecha Collection line. All ships are part of the upcoming Yamato 2205 project. Quote
westfall Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 (edited) BTW... Anyone else here embarqued on the lunacy train, continued the Hachette Collection and is building the 1:350 Andromeda? No? Just me?! Still gathering my energy for the apparently nightmare inducing job that is all the wiring in those final 3 or 4 issues. Just hope all works in the end. Fingers crossed. sumyumgoy Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 My friend and I are going for the Andromeda too. Although I have yet to even come close to finishing the Yamato! Quote
oshanmacross Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Well that's that!, I'd like to find another issue of 079 to fix up some of my loose or over guled AA guns. If anyone has an extra (079) I'm all ears Quote

Who does it better? Who sounds more... into it, when they did their time in teh booths...? Quote

Didn't even see that there was an Andromeda. Lord that's tempting. The headache I'd dread is just trying to make sure I got all the pieces. Are there any photos of the final beast? Quote
easnoddy Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Can anyone post the link to #120 on HLJ? I can't find it. Quote

Try Yahoo Japan Auctions or Amazon Japan, I just tried a quick search and found 119: https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f512421342 Also maybe Hachette's mail order service through a proxy? Johannes Huber Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Don't know if anyone has already posted this but the Asuka carrier is now available for preorder at HLJ. If anyone needs the link, let me know and I'll post it. Is it my imagination or does the other shown carrier, the Hyuga, look somewhat different than the Asuka? Quote

There are notable differences between the two, pretty much all over. The WMG is open on the Hyuga, the lower sterns and flight decks are also different, and I think some bridge structure/antenna detail. What's also different, is that I have yet to see the order page for the Hyuga... Quote

TehPW Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 It's been a while since we talked about SBY 2202.... Yamato 2205 Episode 2 commentary | CosmoDNA (ourstarblazers.com) towards the bottom of the article, it mentions Titan, a former moon of Saturn. Can someone explain the full details on the demise of Saturn (besides what I personally think what happened based on what I recall from the series)? Quote
Thom Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 It may be time for the yearly Yamato Marathon... Quote
TehPW Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 i guess that explains why the fleet wasn't visiting a Quasar during their travels (which was what i thought was depicted in the few pics or clips seen online previously) but the actual remains of Saturn... I'm just curious because if Saturn effectively disappeared (or its sphere of gravitational influence is reduced or removed outright), that should actually cause massive changes in the solar system... should it not? I know ive talked about this before (because then and now, its seems like a really cool 'What If' event)... Quote

Yes, and fairly quickly too. But! This is Yamato physics where the new Gatlantis Empire had a bunch of planets within it (not just a moon size ship like the original show) and nothing came of it. oshanmacross Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Yeah, Yamato is significant.... Tim doesn't mess around! Quote
Duke Togo Posted September 3 Posted September 3 (edited) I'm late to this party. I started watching 2022 last week on CR and am 9 episodes in. So far I am not enjoying it as much as 2199. 2202 just is a bit too convoluted. At least early on. Edited September 3 by Duke Togo Quote

It also suffers from plot spaghetti - they throw tons of stuff out there and never develop it. Quote
guyxxed Posted September 3 Posted September 3 2202 was a lot less grounded than 2199 (which is saying something for a show that features a WWII battleship in space!), and I didn't like where they went with Yuki's character, but I do think overall that it managed to tell a thematically powerful story. Yamato has historically leaned much more in the cosmic than in the grounded real, so it's staying true to its roots even if I would have liked something crunchier overall. In the end, I liked 2202 and agree that 2205 is a step up. Looking forward to what comes next! Quote
