ManhattanProject972 Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 Yeah with the 30 I kinda got lazy and took the 31 I had already built and just changed a couple of details because they're such similar airframes like the leading edge on the 30's wingroot starting immediately after its canards whereas on the 31 it starts slightly behind, two sub air-intakes above the main ones on the 31 as opposed to a single large one on the 30, but I totally missed on the 30 being slightly wider than the 31 and that the 30's LERX (Leading Edge Root eXtension), the bit next to the cockpit area, is much less pronounced than it is on the 31. Where the 171 is concerned, well I'm just happy I even managed to get it too look kinda like its supposed to, I didn't really have high hopes for this one as its design is very hard to pull off in KSP much like real F-117. ManhattanProject972 Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) Here's a YF-21 flying in formation with a VF-11B with the twin rocket boosters attached. I gave each of them their correct Thrust-to-weight ratio so when I put the YF-21 on full throttle the VF-11 with the boosters engaed was left behind struggling to keep the 21 in view just like the OVA. Its a pretty fun game and yeah putting together planes really became whole lot easier in these last couple of updates. A couple of years ago what used to take me almost two weeks to put together, an aircraft that I was somewhat satisfied with that vaguely resembled what I was trying to make and in the end flew like crap, now takes me around two-ish hours to complete and the vanilla physics have improved so much that aircraft actually fly like they are supposed to. Mods also help alot. Quote

I recently put together two big bad enemy VF's, the Az-130A Panzerzorene and the beauty of flying wing FBz-99G Saubergeran. But thats not all I also modified a couple of my older VF's to make variants that appeared in Mac7 including a VF-11MAXL and a VF-19S I always thought my YF-19 in KSP was an amazing dogfighter, it combined amazing speed and super-maneuverability along with a high level of agility and stability to make for a really potent airframe. It won the majority of the dogfights I put it in even when outnumbered and even posed a serious threat to 5th gen VF's like the VF-25 and VF-27, if they made just a single mistake more often than not the YF-19 almost always shot them down. But by modifying its shape to that of a VF-19S and giving it more power more than 700 Kn's worth it takes the 19 to a whole new level. I thought at first as I was first putting it together that it wouldn't be as capable as the YF-19 due to deleted canards and short stubby wings, and yes it doesn't fly as nice as the YF-19 and its a lot harder to fly because its a lot less stable, but its combat potential is pretty damn high. The VF-19S won 5 out of 8 engagements against the YF-19 much to my surprise, with 1 draw as both shot each other down in a head on pass. ManhattanProject972 Posted October 26, 2018 Author Posted October 26, 2018 After watching the movie I really wanted to strap some Lil Draken boosters on the Siegfried and as a result, flies very strangely. Its maneuverability has been bumped up, but as a result its stability near non existent. Incredibly twitchy with keyboard controls but the AI handles her with some scary precision, able to shoot down a flight of 2 Su-30SM's in a single pass. Quote
