Dangard Ace Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 KS started 1hr ago and they've already reached their goal. Too pricey to get my name in the disc but the limited edition Car is gonna be mine! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/madoverlord/riding-bean-high-octane-edition-anime-blu-ray?ref=watched_project_launched Quote
Noriko Takaya Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Just purchased the "patron" selection. I love this anime and I want to taunt my friends when I load the disc and my name pops up. Quote
anime52k8 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 the bundle with the model car sounds kind of tempting. Quote
JetJockey Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 I need to go over it a bit more, but the campaign is already better than the Bubblegum Crisis one. From what I saw there is an artbook and new Kenichi Sonoda art for the case. And this is at a cheaper price too, I think the $50 price point. Too bad they couldn't do this for Bubblegum Crisis which to me is far superior. I watched Riding Bean fairly recently for the first time, like in the last year and wasn't crazy about it. I always remembered that one trailer on so many anime VHS tapes that I own. It has the car with the trick wheels and grenades getting dropped on it from a semi truck. A very exciting trailer but kind of a let down anime. Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 all we need now is ba-oh on blu ray and zillion Quote
dizman Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Hmm I do like Riding Bean but do I $50 like it? At least I have 29 days to decide . Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 all we need now is ba-oh on blu ray and zillion Zillion is already on Blu-Ray; a set was released last year for around $300. Sandman Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Riding bean is ok but i'd rather they focused on something more memorable. I'd love them to do Arcadia of My Youth if they can re-secure the rights. I'd throw some money towards that. Quote
technoblue Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Riding Bean and Otaku No Video are both new to me. I pledged to both because I really liked how well Robert Woodhead executed his Bubblegum Crisis Kickstarter project. Yeah, it had growing pains because he was learning how to efficiently use the system, but the final product was solid. Personally, I'm not into the big bonus pledges. And I wasn't too bothered by not having figures or missing the unlocked items that came as things were figured out in the beginning (most of this is standard now). I'm the type who is content to stick to the Blu-ray tiers (sometimes springing for the happy art book). Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Latest updates states Mr. Sonoda himself has ideas for the Roadbuster model. <excitement level rises> Quote
dizman Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Just a reminder, only a few hours left to go on the kickstarter so get in while you can. Quote
Noriko Takaya Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) Well, it's getting closer to being released and Mr. Woodhead has issued certificates to those of us who contributed enough. Not going to show the front, but the back of the certificate is cool. And here is a pic of the screen which loads with my name. Look for the red box, that's me! technoblue Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 I'm really enjoying how much Robert Woodhead is able to improve his process and delivery with each new Kickstarter campaign. The certificates are a fun gimmick, and I'm also looking forward to the Riding Bean art book. Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 He's been very receptive with the feedback messages I've been sending, and it seems like he is truly having fun in developing this release. He mentioned that if enough interest is garnered, larger scale models of the Roadbuster could be made. Quote
Sandman Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 I came across the kickstarter pages and was blown away that this project was funded $135, 589 out of $30,000. That's frickin crazy. I had no idea this show was that popular. I really surprised it's that popular. I watched this when it first got released in the early 90s. I thought it was ok but i never had any interest in watching it again. Quote
