found a new Possible way of making the Quite Exhaust part some { not on the web }

told me sometime back about his sanding table it has a Down ward draft box .

I just happen to be look in wood working on AMAZON.COM ,lol,

and also found Portable Version so I went looking in Bing / image's,,

& found lot of the missing part's I was looking for.. tell what do you think,.

spray booth? how I make this cheaper

& Better

needed something I know would work & then deseeded to make my own about a year back after another friend blew me off & he told all I need was the money & found out the cost., all ways look at what's out on market & how easy would it be to make & Repair is BEING the big thing & replacing the COST of the part's.

it just one of the thing you will face in the future. that's the Baggiest thing I looked at from the Start, because of all the

hobby's I work with.

all I ask is every one looks at the fact's before shopping & yes you'll have to make it portable ,

, if you don't own your Home.

me I was luck to find a old medium Projection screen TV , at first I was not going to get it till I saw it had Roller's

on the underside.

that how 1/2 the cost went down faster then taking a solid wood desk & converting that

to a spray booth. so If I do move, all I have to do is roll it out on to the truck.

I hope every one dose think before they act.

when it comes to Spray booth's in their Hobby's

the big thing is I can spray any thing in it & wont have to worry about any mess's wherever I work with thing's

these are the type of thing's I was thinking of before I found the Medium size Projection TV,

now I can incorporate them in the Spray Booth.

for Maximum Effect

& I can spray any thing I want so I don't have to go outside to do thing's with 70% chance of things getting on my fresh paint job.

and if I need to make repair's or Replace thing it will be cheep & faster to do it .

like a fast portable work shop.

Tell me what you think .

I just made a folder in my Gallery so you all can read & get some ideal's for your own Booth's.

The only key is getting a blower that is either brushless or has an indirect drive like a belt on the fan and motor. Personally, I used a bunch of muffin fans due to lack of other components. The other safety item is to use metal dryer tubing just in case a spark from static sets off your exhaust and VOOOooom! I never had problems though. I hope your idea works out! - MT

Using a downdraft set-up could pull more dust and such from the air in the room over your painting surface.

One thing I've often thought about doing is building a spray-booth with a lid on the front section that completely encloses the spray area. The key is that front lid would be made out of plexi and have two holes cut into with gloves attached on the inside of the booth to manipulate objects.

Basically a modified sand-blasting booth.

Downdraft wouldn't be such a problem in that design.

Is it really that critical? How dusty is the environment you're spraying in? Airbrush paints dry super fast as well so the time exposed to dust while the surface is tacky is minutes at best.

No point over thinking and over complicating something if you aren't building competition master pieces.

You start spraying inside a sealed fume hood setup and you will discover removing your airbrush to change a colour will be problematic and negate your zero dust setup unless you have positive pressure inside as you open it. In which case you just vented the vapours into your own face. May as well look for an NBC suit while you are at it.

Keep those things in mind when you design something.

When ever you do something, do as we do in the Army and ask yourself in order to do what? I want an airbrush booth in order to....remove vapour and contain over spray? Be dust free? Be hermetically sealed?

You don't need or want hurricane force air speeds flowing into your booth, you just want to catch and guide what IS in there in the right direction to head out the rear of the booth. The Airbrush will be blasting more air at a higher speed than your exhaust fans. Otherwise you'll be sucking in all the household airborne particulates and actually creating the problem. The purpose of the filter at the rear is JUST to catch particulates (paint) in the air and reduce the amount getting on the fans, ducting and out into the air.

My booth is simply to contain overspray and blow some of the vapours out of the garage to keep the wife happy while not costing an arm and a leg to build and maintain, providing me with some lighting to see whats being worked on and being as quiet as possible to not make me think I'm billeted in the aux generator room of an Aircraft Carrier.

not to bad ,, BUT my Cat like to Explore & he Shed's his fir daily, so I have to keep the work area clean every 3 days, by vacuuming.

I'm lookin at a Non Static Plastic for days or night time. or I could use large cardboard with 3-M filter cloth, one side to absorb

the Air Fume's when it's drying.WHEN I have to leave things to dry, so far the smell of any kind of paint makes my cay stay away.

wife happy "YES"

,lol,

if you don't She just Might have a Cast Iron skillet in 1 hand & a Rolling Pin in the other hand,,

lol,

because if you think she missed the 1'st , time.

I don't currently have a spray booth, but the plan is to make it fold up against the wall/bench with hinges. Similar to this: http://www.micromark.com/fold-up-spray-booth,11594.html

A key feature is to make a cover with heavy plastic sheeting (tarp material). I knew a guy that urethane coated woodwork and after applying the urethane, he set it under a clear plastic "tent." It kept dust off his work. So my plan is to paint and then "tent" the work in the booth. That way no dust settles on the work. I'll still have to use rattle cans outside to paint, but then I can tent them in the booth to gas-off and cure without ticking off my wife. Everyone is happy that way ^_^ - MT

hey im now looking at a 3 pc fan set up in a box, I was lookin at some pc fan's combos for a pc when I found the 3 fan set up on amazon.com

pitcher this..

a box <<<-------------long ways----------------->>>>>>>

in side it 20% down from the top & enclosed long ways 2 or 3 set's

of 3 fan set similar like the Pic above of the 2 fan set.

then I cover the 20 % of that upper half, with woood & cocking. & the Duck tape.

on the UPER & undersides side to the down draft box,,

sucking upward in to the upper vent on the back & pushing out the top of hose to the window.

ill try & do a drawing latter, just look in my Photo's. latter

just found the pic , it's now in my Gallery of spray booth.

3 PC fans wont move a lot of air at all. Its not enough.

The volume of air being extracted has to be equal to or greater than the volume of air coming out of the airbrush otherwise it will still swirl out of the box and into the room.
