Renato Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Walkure first single, "Ikenai Borderline", is out as an MP3 download. Y250 on Amazon; it's on iTunes as well. Already #1 in both the Albums and the Soundtracks categories. It's a great song! http://www.amazon.co.jp/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?__mk_ja_JP=%E3%82%AB%E3%82%BF%E3%82%AB%E3%83%8A&url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=%E3%81%84%E3%81%91%E3%81%AA%E3%81%84%E3%83%9C%E3%83%BC%E3%83%80%E3%83%BC%E3%83%A9%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3 Quote
seti88 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 This site mentioned macross delta anime starting in winter 2016... http://www.senpaigamer.com/news/macross-delta-episode-1-2-screening-event-japan-march-21-01042016-1103 So are the March/April 2016 dates this year just for episode 1/2 and then another break till winter? Am confused.. Quote
Gubaba Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 No, it's like Frontier. It'll start in April and continue weekly until it ends. Quote
IXTL Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 First 2 episodes (completed final versions) will be screened in TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku on March 21. https://www.funity.jp/tickets/macross/show/delta01/1/3/ http://www.senpaigamer.com/news/macross-delta-episode-1-2-screening-event-japan-march-21-01042016-1103 Quote
Tochiro Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 The preview episode of Macross Delta has already racked up over half a million views in just 12 days! And that's only counting the official Youtube site in raw Japanese. :-) Quote
wmkjr Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Can't read any Japanese but all I need to see is Karaoke, Ikenai Borderline and February 7. Anybody ready to pump up your friends on the mic! Quote
sketchley Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 . Was that scan taken from Newtype? Makes me sad... as the focus is almost entirely on the characters, and the Valkyrie is mere window dressing in the background. [For comparison: the Newtype articles on MF did have a paragraph here and there on the Valkyries] Quote

sketchley Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Are machines more interesting than humans now? Yes and no. One of the pillars of Macross has been the mechanical side. It's the lack of emphasis in this marketing campaign (from Newtype?) that saddens me. Quote

jenius Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 And one of the pillars is music, which they chose to emphasize here. How is that a valid response to someone saying "I'm bummed they didn't highlight the mechanical designs."? Sketchley didn't imply that music isn't a pillar of Macross. It's an oddly petulant response to an observation. Quote

"There are three pillars of Macross, why didn't they highlight the one that *I* wanted them to...?"So, for now, they highlighted the music. I'm sure mecha detail will be forthcoming. Quote
Jefuemon Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Japanese market, people. In this day and age, idols before mechs. Quote

I make an observation that the article is providing a less than comprehensive presentation of the new series, especially when compared to past articles in Newtype (if it even comes from Newtype), and not only do I get my head chewed off, but statements I never proffered are being attributed to me. Nevertheless, a further question to the OP: were there any other pages in the article? Or just the ones scanned? Edited January 14, 2016 by sketchley Quote

That's the 2/2016 issue of Animage, IIRC... dunno 'bout the contents. Great Mechanics G and Figure King have been lavishing no small amount of affection on the mecha of the series, so it may be a case of targeted marketing? Quote

Sorry, I wasn't trying to set off a bomb or bite your head off, and I apologize if I misconstrued your meaning. Quote

I never did follow Animage (they generally don't do any mechanical coverage at all), so any lamenting above has to be taken with a grain of salt, as it was in the context of Newtype. VFTF1 Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Oh brother. This is what I get for getting back into Transformers over the last few years. I was gonna write something like "I love Macross. It WAS great"....and now I see there's a new series. Is that a girls band ? I know, I know...read the thread, search the net, but I have been away a long time. Judging by this thread, I picked a good time to check back in. Quote

terry the lone wolf Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 So there's going to be another screening of episode 1 with episode 2 on March 21st? https://www.funity.jp/tickets/macross/show/delta01/1/3/ Quote
Tochiro Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Yes. However tickets, which were drawn via ballot, are rare as hens teeth because applications were opened up to the public. Of the group of 20ppl I saw ep1 at the cinema with, so far only 1 has managed to secure a ticket. Good omen for Delta though. Quote
Tochiro Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Another screening has just been added for Episode 2, due to what I can only presume is sheer demand. When I checked yesterday, scalpers were asking for 20,000yen per ticket. Quote
RedWolf Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 It seems like the Knights are getting their own manga. To be serialized on the Comic Zero Sum, aimed at a female demographic, starting on their June issue (which I think comes out in late April). Source /m/ anon. Quote
Einherjar Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 (edited) They really are Clamp Squadron. But do they really deserve character development as current antagonists? Edited January 28, 2016 by Einherjar Quote
Sildani Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Way too early to say. Their character designs are complicated enough to warrant some fleshing out. And if there's a way to make money, corporate types will use it. Quote
