it's because Shin Godzilla isn't a lizard (per se) as opposed to previous Godzilla's which was originally some kind of lizard (prehistoric 1954 G, an irradiated Iguana from 1998's Deanzilla, to an actual T-Rex-zilla from the 90's films). Your guess is as good as mine to what creature SG was originally... maybe a fish because of those eyes?

Do we have a thread for the new animated Godzilla?

Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters?

Might as well discuss it here, since this is the only kaiju action Macrossworld gets...  ;)

is that Kotobukiya's Type 92 Maser Tank kit?

Yeah, that's the one:

Fantastic detail, for its size.

Kotobukiya claims it's 1:144 scale, which seems about right to me.

I keep checking to see if other sci-fi / military stuff has been done in 1/144. I've got a Yukikaze kit in 1/144, and Kotobukiya also has the XFA-27 kit that would look good with it; there's even Hasegawa's 1/144 Ultra Hawk which would make a great shuttle for a couple of GMs to escort, but sci-fi tanks aren't very popular it seems, in any scale.

Kotobukiya also did a model of the Super X2 in 1:144 scale, an imposing and heroic design that's just too big to fit into my diorama:
