Jefuemon Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Looks like he's FINALLY doing something in 1/72! VF-5000 Star Mirage Looks to be available at Winter Wonderfest. Quote
wmkjr Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Nice! I bet It'll be going for a pretty penny for the lucky few. He does all his models with a CAD type program, yes? With the way 3D printing tech's going, I can see an up-scaling of his models as doable. Or better yet, a revised version. Quote
electric indigo Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Interesting subject, but the kit lacks the elegance of the lineart. The canopy looks too big, too. S.H.E did it better IMO Quote
EXO Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I think the canopy modeling isn't done yet. And you're looking at it as all glass but put the black ouline around it and the canopy looks smaller. But I wonder why he switched scales. maybe parts were too small for transformation? Quote
derex3592 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Arcadia SO needs to hit that up in 1:60. Quote
Mommar Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Arcadia SO needs to hit that up in 1:60. I'd be all over an Arcadia version. Quote
Spitfire_BR Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 wow ! When - and where - it will be available to buy ?? Wanna buy it ! Quote
wmkjr Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Good luck if it's for Wonderfest Winter. It'll be limited and pricey. Quote
mechaninac Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Arcadia SO needs to hit that up in 1:60. Yes, yes they do... or a Bandai DX. Quote
gwfalcon Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Ryo's VF-5000 and VA-3 models are truly epic! Look forward to the scaled-up version!! Quote
MILKAUTICO Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Ryo's VF-5000 and VA-3 models are truly epic! Look forward to the scaled-up version!! Sorry, someone said VA-3 .... Duymon Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 (edited) So, I read the Blog. Long story short, It's non-transforming kit. you gotta choose which mode you build it in. Each mode has their own respective detail up parts. Think of it like the Moscato Legios in terms up building (pick a mode, use those parts) 2nd, it's the Macross M3 version (5000B) that we only ever saw on Dreamcast. 3rd. It's not a color cast kit like his usual 1/100's. It's casted in grey 4th, MSRP is 25000 yen 5th, God Damnit I still want one Edited December 30, 2015 by Duymon Quote
spanner Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 nice but a kit just ins't for me.. it would be good if one of the big two would produce a VF-3000 or VF-5000 or both to 1:60 scale. I would snap em both up in a awful hurry! Quote

Or it is just not perfect-transforming? If non-transform, a bit pitty. Quote
Duymon Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 (edited) Thanks bro for your translation. You sure that is non-transforming? Or it is just not perfect-transforming? If non-transform, a bit pitty. Yeah the Default Kit is choose one mode and build it that way. If you want to do perfect transform you get two limitations. (looks like they added this to the entry recently since i didn't see it lat time) You need to order the Experten Ratchet kit for an extra 2700 yen You cannot use the Detail parts for each mode. This includes the fighter intakes, the battroid cockpit and the Battroid alternate forearms which have better proportions. Edited January 1, 2016 by Duymon Quote
Sildani Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Kinda surprised it's not here yet, but... Photos by Tochiro, shown at Winter Wonderfest 2016, cost 25,000¥, release TBD. And is it just me, or is the canopy kinda... bulbous? Quote
wmkjr Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 (edited) That looks like it's from his blog more than Winter Festival itself. I would expect to have seen a lot of background noise and lighting like Tochiro's pics. Good find though. Edited February 8, 2016 by wmkjr Quote
biggooftoybox Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Now that looks pretty good. However really those small wings would never give it enough lift in an atmosphere. Still I'm always jazzed for more non-mainstream Valkyries. However with the way JPN does their licensing, which Macross license would be needed to produce this in a toy form and what other Valkyries would be in that license? Quote
Duymon Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 It looks like the VF-5000G got pregnant or something in Battroid mode. Quote
MILKAUTICO Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 It looks like the VF-5000G got pregnant or something in Battroid mode. JJAJAJAJA Lol Quote
antibiotictab Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) He sold the 2 VF-5000s there. The VF-5000B at the Pit Bull table. The VF-5000G at the Experten table. Actually some parts are different. Edited February 14, 2016 by antibiotictab Quote
David Hingtgen Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 The G has "M7" style ankles, like Basara's and Mylene's valk. Quote
NZEOD Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) The F-104 Starfighter had almost pointless wings and that flew fine. Edited February 13, 2016 by NZEOD Quote
electric indigo Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 The F-104 Starfighter had almost pointless wings and that flew fine. Considering the loss rate, that is a bit of an exaggeration. Quote
NZEOD Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Given the failure incidents werent due to the wing surface area or lifting capabilities thats a red herring to claim its an exaggeration Quote
David Hingtgen Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Remember that canonically, valks are VERY lightweight. What, 14,000lbs for a VF-1? Quote
electric indigo Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Given the failure incidents werent due to the wing surface area or lifting capabilities thats a red herring to claim its an exaggeration The tiny wings weren't the leading cause, but the layout was pretty unforgiving towards pilot errors or mechanical failure. MechTech Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 These look cool! 14,000lbs for a valk!? They must be styrofoam and an engine! I know - over technology. - MT Quote
