QEssential Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Help identify this? http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/n147903483 Quote
VF5SS Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 It's an unassembled version of Yamato's 1/60 scale VF-1 toy. Quote
QEssential Posted November 21, 2015 Author Posted November 21, 2015 Wow! I totally did not know that! How does it compare with the actual toys? Anyones got a review of this? Quote
wmkjr Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) Got some info here. It's Mickyg's VF-1 kit build in the workshop. There were also ones for the VF-1A, VF-1J and VF-1D. Hope that helps. That asking price for the VF-1S on Buyee is high though. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=32977&page=1 From mech9: http://www.mech9.com/2012/08/yamato-160-vf-1a-no-paint-kit-with.html Edited November 21, 2015 by wmkjr Quote
QEssential Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 Haha, yeah the price is a little steep but I think it would make a nice collection piece. What was its original retail price? It should be cheaper than the standard toy considering you had to do all the work. Quote
mickyg Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 If I recall correctly, they were around $70. I have a spreadsheet somewhere, showing all the original prices I paid for my kits. They were definitely cheaper than the assembled versions. They're tricky kits though. Lots of little pins and parts to trim up. You really end up appreciating the assembly by the factory when it's finished. Quote

I'd like to get one if the price is right. Edited November 22, 2015 by QEssential Quote
mickyg Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 It is identical, as far as I can tell. It's simply the toy, before it's assembled. Quote
Mommar Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Hey mate, hows the quality? Did they use the same plastic as on the toys? I'd like to get one if the price is right. It's not really a kit, it's just the toy unassembled. Quote
Duymon Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Lol I sold like 2 of those for like 90 each with free shipping 2 months ago. That price is obscenely bad Quote
