no3Ljm Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 You can try apply some Future/Pledge polish on the loose joints of your valk. It might help. It helped a bit on mine, but I still don't trust it in neutral-standing on its own. Care to share how did you apply the polish on your VF-4G? Thanks. Quote
treatment Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Care to share how did you apply the polish on your VF-4G? Thanks. Coated the joints area with a soaked qtip and let it dry for a few minutes. Quote
spanner Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Yeah i think I'll give that a go. I have adjusted its pose so hopefully it won't topple over but those joints i simply dont trust.. And what about the ankle joints? Quote

And what about the ankle joints? You can hope that enough coating can give the ankle joints some sort of friction to stop it from turning easily. On mine, I angled the feet diagonally so that it butts against the leg edges to stop the feet/ankle from turning and giving way. It kinda works on mine, but I gave up and just put it in its pretty fighter-mode. You might as well just put it on a yeti-stand or something if you still insist on wanting it in battroid-mode. Quote

I did the similar thing with the feet as you did! I really wanna keep it in battroid but my display shelf height isnt so ideal for a yeti stand sadly.. which is one of the reasons why i haven't picked up any. Anyways i think the hip joints are the primary offender and the ankles aren't too bad. I'm gonna give coating those hip joints a go over the weekend. Fingers crossed! Quote
no3Ljm Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Coated the joints area with a soaked qtip and let it dry for a few minutes. And this is for the ankle joints? How about the knee joint? Did you put polish as well? Quote
treatment Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 And this is for the ankle joints? How about the knee joint? Did you put polish as well? Same for both. Coat anything that you think is loose or will be loose. Heck! If the 4G has chrome parts, I would've coated them as well... Quote

auberondreaming Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 My copy is fairly tight in the ankles, is this a broad problem for the Arcadia release? My Yamato does seem a tad tighter... Quote
no3Ljm Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 My copy is fairly tight in the ankles, is this a broad problem for the Arcadia release? My Yamato does seem a tad tighter... Most of the guys here who got the Arcadia one have loose ankle. Not sure with my copy yet since it's still with HLJ PW. Quote
Mommar Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 I have no ankle problems. The knee joint was the loose thing on mine. Quote
seti88 Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Getting a stand should negate any nagging doubts abt joints... Quote
no3Ljm Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Most of the guys here who got the Arcadia one have loose ankle. Not sure with my copy yet since it's still with HLJ PW. Got mine. And same thing I said on the purchase thread, mine came with a little bit of loose knee joint and ankle joints. And it needs of using a stand support. But the rest is tight, esp the shoulder/elbow joints compared to the Yamato releases. Have you tried tightening the screws on the VF-4? Finally, everything is tight after I tightened all the joints. Except... I got this after just one full screw rotation. Quote

no3Ljm Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 ahhh! crap! no!!! bugger.. Yup. If ever it gets loose again, I will dissemble it and probably ask the 3D experts here and see if they can help. Quote

spanner Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 (edited) yeah you could probably get a replacement part 3D printed..? or it might already even exist on Shapeways? Edited July 26, 2016 by spanner Quote

Xigfrid Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Oups no3ljm... everyone should be carefull with flat head screws. Generally round-head screws are safer to tighten. Quote
seti88 Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Not too nasty a break noel, but still hurts i bet..hopefully nothing a lil plastic putty/bond wont solve! Ok must remember to have him on a stand for battroid/gerwalk .... Quote
no3Ljm Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Thanks guys. Yeah. It's still tight actually. Though of course you can see the 'cut' under the thigh part when assembled back. Quote

spanner Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 my cousin was over on the weekend and was checking out my Macross stuffs.. he saw the Arcadia VF-4 in its battroid action pose and said.. "why does that one look like its half transformed?" and I was like.. "hehe yeah... that's just how the VF-4 looks in battroid.. not the prettiest tool in the shed in that mode.." Quote
arbit Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 I finally broke down and applied the decal stickers to my Yamato VF-4. Not Flashback exactly, but better than nothing. Any advice how to keep them from curling off? I never put stickers. Quote

Any advice how to keep them from curling off? derex3592 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 I've never applied any clear coat to any of my stickers on any of my Yamato or Arcadia toys, and none have ever peeled off or rolled up, and some of the Yamato V2's are getting pretty old nowadays. Quote
Mommar Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Yeah, I've never had any of the Yamato or Arcadia stickers peel off. Though I would recommend (if you ever do this again) getting proficient in using an x-acto knife to trim the clear edges off. The decals look so much better trimmed properly. Quote
derex3592 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 True story. Takes longer but well worth the effort. I've almost gone blind from trimming "No Step" stickers over the past few years. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Only stickers that have curled off are from my version 1 VF-1A Hikaru. After that one, all of my yamato/arcadia valks have had no issues. Quote
