Yamato 1/48 DYRL sticker adhesion?

I'm placing my stickers on my Yamato 1/48 and I'm having issues with the stickers lifting. Mostly on curved surfaces like the large missiles from the super parts. (The red triangular ones)

I did clean the surface of the plastic with alcohol, but is there another (HYPER-MACROSS-WORLD-CUSTOM) trick for better adhesion?

There may be some trick, but the biggest issue is going to be that those stickers are over a decade old. Depending on how they were stored, the adhesive may just be ineffective at this point.

Had that problem with air intake stickers on many of 1/48's.

You could try clear glue, or maybe a little heat to the stickers to make them tacky again. Haven't' tried the latter, so you might want to attempt on stickers you don't care about. A lot of the 1/48 armor pieces had rough surfaces that weren't sticker friendly.

Hmmm, I considered using diluted elmers glue. It seams to work for decals on models.

yeah I'd say those decals being so old now have become cactus.. The adhesive will only ever last so long. You might be able to get them re-printed or redone into water slides somewhere!?

Or yeah as mentioned you could try additional adhesive.. Just be careful what you use as to not damage the plastic of the Valk.

The stickers sucked and lifted/curled even back when they were brand new. The simple fact is they are too thick and stiff.

Back in the day, I used Takatoy's stickers to sticker up my 1/48's instead.

That said, if you can manage to peel off the top layer of the Yamato stickers, the bottom layer is pretty thin and should stick and conform decently to the toy.

The trick is separating the two layers as it can be difficult, tedious, and time consuming.

My experiment with diluted elmers glue brushed on the lifting areas was a success.

It's a few extra steps, but worth it I think if your stickers are not adhering.
