TangledThorns Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Uninspired, looks almost fan made. In retrospect a Hand Solo movie could have worked better as a LEGO movie instead. Quote
Mommar Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 If it weren't about Han Solo it would sound interesting. Quote
technoblue Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Man. Tough crowd. I liked the montage (thanks @sh9000). I wish it was the full trailer instead of a teaser for the trailer, but I'm excited to see more. Quote
Thom Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Liking the look of it so far. For a teaser it got me interested, especially that shot of the Star Destroyer coming through that storm. Awesome visual. But then Star Wars has never had a problem with visuals. Quote
anime52k8 Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 I'm already completely done with every single person in the world who has an opinion on this film. Quote
Graham Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 I still think they should have chosen Anthony Ingruber to play young Han Solo. Quote
kajnrig Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 I know this must have been said already, but... why? Was anyone really clamoring for a Han Solo movie? I sure wasn't. But then again, I wasn't clamoring for a Star Wars, yet here we are, so... eh. Maybe another trailer will make it look more interesting. Quote

Opinions are fine, it's whether or not you're swayed by them. Strongly for, or strongly against, any major property based on a trailer (or in this case, trailer for the trailer ) is a risky proposition. Personally I liked the teaser, but regardless I'll be there opening weekend because I'm interested in seeing the movie. 1 hour ago, Graham said: I still think they should have chosen Anthony Ingruber to play young Han Solo. Had to Google that guy, he sure does look like a young Harrison Ford. -b. Quote
UN Spacy Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Wow that trailer was horrible. I bet most of RLM's terrible movie ideas make it into the actual film. Â Quote

sh9000 Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Clearer quality video.  I’ll have to wait and see about this movie. Quote
TangledThorns Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 What a poor poor choice in casting for Han Solo. Unless the film has stellar reviews here I will just wait till it comes to Netflix. Quote
dizman Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 It actually doesn't look all that bad, I'm still probably going to skip seeing it at the theater but my expectations are a little higher than non existent. Quote
seti88 Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 looks interesting...hopefully the vehicle/ship designs are pleasing! at this point solo looks a bit un-scruffy/teenager-y for my taste, but am sure disney knows the target demografic.. ending fly-through is wetting the appetite! will catch this in the cinema... That being said I'm going to give this other fellow a chance, just because I think it's bad form to poo-poo on a movie before I actually see it. I would like to say this about the new trailer, though: judging from the immaculate condition of the Falcon's corridors, I must rightfully conclude than Han and Chewie are absolute slobs! Quote
no3Ljm Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Oh would you look at that trailer! A Tale of Fast and the Furious... in a galaxy far, far away.   Quote
electric indigo Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Millennials will totally take it as a GotG rip-off. Quote

Sandman Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Just saw the full trailer. The actor is cringy as Han. At least to me. The visuals look great but they always do. Quote
Dynaman Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Aren't you a little short to play Chewbacca? Sorry, couldn't resist. Looks good to me, the voice of Solo is off but we see so little of the actors it is hard to say if that is a problem or not. Quote
technoblue Posted February 6, 2018 Posted February 6, 2018 (edited) I'm still on board. The "We're all fine" quip was fun, and it was a nice nod to Ford's ad lib detention bloc delivery in A New Hope. Honestly, even though Alden Ehrenreich is clearly not a young Harrison Ford, his look as a young Han Solo doesn't bother me. What I'm really curious about is how they will set up Woody Harrelson's character and everything with the Falcon. I'm also excited to see a full compliment of people/aliens manning the ship like in Return of the Jedi when Lando was back at the helm. That's something I've missed with the new sequels TFA and TLJ. Edited February 6, 2018 by technoblue Quote

Lets hope its a smart one as Star Wars seems to be on a downward trend. Quote
Thom Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 It may not be the Falcon. Another SSM member floated the idea that this is just a different freighter, but that it was the one that caught Lando and Han 's eye. Quote
Chronocidal Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 (edited) This is part of the weirdness they've introduced by nixing the known EU canon really.. I want to say it's entirely possible, since the ships were supposed to be from a common production line that had a lot of customizable options, and were very popular with light traders and smugglers.. but I have no idea what the history of the design is supposed to be anymore.  The part that throws me is that for years, the front mandibles of the ship were always labeled with some cargo loading/unloading/grasping function. Removing those changes the the ship both aesthetically and from a practical perspective.. since.. I mean, if you're not using the centerline for a cargo-related function.. why is the cockpit offset? Edited February 7, 2018 by Chronocidal Quote
electric indigo Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Entirely a Rule of Cool thing. Johnson himself tried this and discarded it: Quote
Axelay Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Reminds me of the Otana from the X-Wing: Alliance game. I truly loved that ship. Perplexing to me is that didn't we briefly see the Falcon in ROTS? Didn't George claim that it was the "actual" Falcon and not just another YT-1300? It had its mandibles then... Quote
