oshanmacross Posted July 4, 2015 Author Posted July 4, 2015 is there english subs? Not from what I can gather, It's a slight possibility with the Macross F movies having them. Quote
RD Blade Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 That's pricey. I'll live with the standard DVD set. Quote
myk Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 That's pricey. I'll live with the standard DVD set. For THAT price I'll stick with my Beta-max or VHS copy... Quote
Keith Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 That's pricey. I'll live with the standard DVD set. BLU-RAY. Quote
Hikuro Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I'll set on it and wait until there's more to go off of like if they'll put in the ADV dub or at least sub title the discs. If not, t here's not a whole lot of reason as I'm pretty happy with the DVD set i have. Quote
Loop Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Yeah, cause in Japan they include the actual Blu-Ray laser in each disc. Anime is very expensive in Japan especially on Blu-Ray. Quote
jenius Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 This late in the game they should go straight to 4K. Quote
oshanmacross Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 I'm more excited by the bonus stuff, The first 2 OAV's are high on my list for epic anime. The japanese R2 dvd was ahead of its time in picture quality for the day, Progressive, High bitrate, super clean mastering. Eh, I think I paid like $250 for that in the day.... Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Prices for Japanese anime Blu-rays never cease to astound me. I would love to get this, but I'd rather spend $300 on a valk, regardless of the cool extras. Quote

But if you would rather play with it I can dig that too, Quote
Keith Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 If I were working right now, I'd pick this up, no question. Hopefully I' be nicely settled before it's out. Quote
kaiser_brunhild Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Think we will see a stateside distributor license this in the US? Quote
Keith Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Sentai / ADV has kept tge DVD's in production, so it's "possible." Quote
TangledThorns Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I had a VHS copy of Megazone 23pt 2 dubbed version and the DVDs but all are gone. Great series and ahead of its time though. Loved the dubbed version of part 2. Quote
Shawn Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Promo video showing some scenes (DVD v Blu) I love all the extras they are including. Awesome Quote
Mr March Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 The video really shows off the high definition glory of this new transfer. Very impressive. Quote
Marzan Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I'm extremely tempted. I love Megazone 23, specially the first 2 parts and those extras make this pretty special. But 300 is a lot of green. Quote
Tochiro Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Came across a flier for this at Comiket on the weekend. Am I the fence as to whether to pick it up or not. If I have enough Amazon points banked, I might cash em in on this. Quote
Phobos Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Decisions, Decisions. I'm torn between this and the new Evangelion box set... Quote
oshanmacross Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 Decisions, Decisions. I'm torn between this and the new Evangelion box set... Oh Yeah!, Is there any images for the EVA box yet? Quote
Keith Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Oh Yeah!, Is there any images for the EVA box yet? Strangely, just the packaging, but I trust Anno. Quote
spanner Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 (edited) I have this whole series on my pc so I might have to re-watch it! Haven's seen it years! Edited August 21, 2015 by spanner76 Quote
oshanmacross Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 I guess this crystal thing was a bonus on sale at the screening? https://twitter.com/megazone23tokyo/status/662576449686138880 Quote
Renato Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Let me bump this thread with some Miyasato Kumi from the bonus disc so that the top two threads on this forum are actually about Star Wars and Megazone, finally fulfilling the quota on the forum description: "Everything from Megazone to Star Wars"! Beltane70 Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 To this day, I still wonder what happened to Kumi. Quote
Renato Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Nobody knows. Not even Ishiguro had a clue. Quote
oshanmacross Posted December 1, 2015 Author Posted December 1, 2015 (edited) Got mine today, mass Kumi videos.Lots of leg warmers and oversized sweaters, They took very good care of these masters. The subtle shadows Mikimoto put in Eve's hair during part 1's music videos is something I never noticed before.
