Xigfrid Posted July 18, 2015 Author Posted July 18, 2015 (edited) Hi Jasonc! I am glad you grabbed one I have removed the backrest front seat in order to allow the second/back seat to be used with a figure with legs. My idea is to take a standing female figure and to ploy its legs with a candle, if you see what I mean. Did you get the 1/60 bike? Because you probably can use any 1/72 sitting figure or pilot figures, then set a custom hair cut with "putty" to simulate Isamu's head and you are done ! But I also see "someone" to do these figures, I would be in for a the female one! Edited July 18, 2015 by Xigfrid Quote

I haven't worked on it yet, but I'm going to get to it once all the other projects are done. Really happy with it, and the XUD is perfect for the moving tires. Quote
Xigfrid Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 I took some picts of the painted bike, sorry for the pictures quality and unfortunatly the painting was made with a brush, I am not very used to painting yet. Quote
Xigfrid Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 Thank you! I hope to see other's bike and painting jobs soon. Quote
arbit Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 Hi Xigfrid. Finally got my 1/60 Isamu Bike and Sharon. Could you please pose a 1/72 Bike with the 1/60 Isamu pilot? Comparing to animation, it seems the 1/60 bike is too large for my taste. I'd like to see how it looks with a smaller bike. Thanks. Quote
Xigfrid Posted January 4, 2017 Author Posted January 4, 2017 Hi Arbit, I am glad another bike and Sharon have found a house! I remember that I made the 1:60 bike a little smaller than the line art to make it match better the pilot size. See on the photo the red-hair guy and the orange pilot are both 1:72 scale. They match up with isamu. I don't own a 1:72 bike, I know there are a few out. So if someone can post a picture that would be nice. But honestly I really like the scale of the bike, if you look again at the "plus" episodes you will find that the bike should be as long as a car! Quote
arbit Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 I found that the rear wheel doesnt want to turn (for painting). Should I scrape at it with an hobby knife, or leave it alone? Quote
Xigfrid Posted January 15, 2017 Author Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) Generally there is still some wax there, you can use a small metal wire: insert it through the wax and gently go around. At some point the wheel will get loose. Same goes for front wheel Edited January 15, 2017 by Xigfrid Quote
cypherzero Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 I'll have to get one of these, to complement my YF-19! Now, as for a figure, I wonder if the Transformers MP-10 Spike figure will work with this? Quote
arbit Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 I've been geeking out over Xigrid's bike recently. I finally finished! It took me many years to gain the confidence to paint this little thing. Xigfrid's 1/60 Isamu Bike and Ghost-9. And I have been fiddling around with this concept for Sharon Apple w/ Isamu's Bike. 1/48 scale. I think Sharon is the right size now. Quote

I'm hoping to be able to get an Isamu in his street attire to fit the 1/60 bike, as well as a Lucy to go with it, but a Sharon adds appeal to this bike Quote
Bolt Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Nice job @arbit yes Isamu needs his copilot on the back seat of that bike! The 3d work looks great too. 3 hours ago, Jasonc said: I'm hoping to be able to get an Isamu in his street attire to fit the 1/60 bike Goggles, a tank top , shorts and tennis shoe..🤔 Quote

arbit Posted February 4 Posted February 4 (edited) This is my new version of Isamu's bike, and some others you might know.. Edited February 20 by arbit Quote
Jasonc Posted February 25 Posted February 25 The bike design looks really good. All the figures look pretty good, too. I like the riding/stationery options. As I do like seeing the Guld figure, Isamu's pilot face looks a little off. It might be the eyes. However, as I print these in small scale, I don't go for super accurate figures, as the painting process is impossible to get them anime accurate. For that, these are great. Awesome work. Quote

Thanks for the feedback. I have made some adjustments to Isamu's face as you recommended. Other than fixing glaring problems, I am not a perfectionist. As you said, these are intended for small scale, not professional level figures. Edited February 26 by arbit Quote

I hope you don't think that I was expecting them to be a certain way. They look great. With small scale prints and figures, they almost can't look like they're anime accurate. Have you seen Arcadia's Macross 7 characters? They have the shape of the figures, but not too accurate face wise. In any case, I know you've been working on the other things. It's all looking great. Can't wait to see what you do next with these and your future projects. Quote
Xigfrid Posted April 30 Author Posted April 30 I see that the bike is still an on-going project and I like the more accurate new design! Nicely done! Quote
