Don't have any of the Bandai DX VF-1 series. I've kept myself from buying one due to the difference in scale. I'd like to keep my Valk collection at 1/60. If Arcadia does release a PF Super Ostrich, it would be in my to-buy list for sure, as long as its priced reasonably. And by that I mean it should not exceed the price of Bandai's DX VT-1. And it should definitely be much lower than the current market prices for the Yamato version. I can do without the tent. And nuclear fish over fire. Hehe!

Arcadia should still have the mold for the VT-1 correct? Which means the only issue is production cost and marketability.  The Bandai DX VT-1 is currently sold out in Mandarake. So I guess there is still interest among the collectors? Maybe Arcadia should take advantage of the fact that DYRL is coming out again on 4k blu-ray (with proper english subtitles) and ride on the wave of nostalgia that is sure to be generated. Just my two cents.

That is pretty much me as well. Although, while I do have the Ostrich and 1D, I got the 1D simply for the Fan jet, as it's not in a 1/48 scale, and the Ostrich, well, TBH, I was more interested in the accessories (tent, figures). 1/60 is a great scale. With my collection going on for 20+ years, larger scales now seem to be a bit overwhelming. And while I do have a couple rooms I can display stuff in, I'd simply rather not, and just keep it to 1.

I guess we'll get reports from WF 2025 Winter if Arcadia shows anything. I'm hoping there's news on the VF-5000 and the Minmay. They showed off re-releases last year, and well, OK fine. I don't need a 5th VF-1S with the same paint scheme.

It's irritating for those of us who appreciate the more obscure designs, but I think both Bandai and Arcadia are coming to the conclusion that the only things the vast majority of customers are interested in are the one or two iconic designs from each series (though the mentality of Bandai is forever inscrutable, because they just outright refuse to release some of the most iconic ones ).

With Arcadia, it feels like all of the less well-known designs depend on sales of those cornerstones to fund them, but it also feels like the market has reached a complete saturation point where everyone who wants those few iconic valks already has them.

Starting to feel like Arcadia needs to go back to the method they used for the original VF-4 sales, where I think they didn't even decide to produce it until they received enough pre-orders to fund it, almost like an in-house kickstarter.

Why not? At least they can gauge interest. There should be enough collectors to fulfill a minimum on some of the other designs.
But really, i just want them to release the VF-5000. I'm ready for a pre order on that!

What Arcadia needs next before any release...

An official U.S. and international distributor. Like Bandai who brought bluefin, Arcadia needs to expand their distribution to overseas to increase sale and profit. It makes the most sense to take advantage of Macross finally being freed up in the West.

I for one would like to have Arcadia officially being able to cover warranty issues like double left ankle errors or crack canopy's.

But the people who would buy their expensive and limited toys are already importing them.

But they/we shouldn't HAVE to import them. I think that's the point here.

My point is that there's no discernible benefit from them getting a distributor. They're a small company making products so niche that the people who need to know about them already do. Having them be available for 50% off at GameStop after a year of people looking at it and saying "why would i pay $300 for this things i don't recognize?" doesn't do therm or GameStop any good.

Hell, the people who DO know about the toys already did that to Yamato...

I could be wrong but I was pretty sure they did so in a tweet prior to the pandemic. You could *just* make out the leg and armors of one. That was about it though. I don’t think that was a VF-1D. I’ll have to go back pretty deep in this thread but it was here in the forums that I saw it.

edit: I couldn’t find the actual Arcadia tweet but I do remember being excited about this one.

To my recollection the leg armor was teased in a picture with the PF VF-0D. 2019ish maybe. You aren't crazy. it is somewhere on this board.

Re-watching Macross Dynamite 7 on D+ is making me want the VF-5000 even more. 😅

$325 is def less than what I usually see the Yamcadia non-PF version go for. Don't even ask about the PF... :(

May I ask how the best way for someone in the USA to order Arcadia stuff brand new? I want to make sure I do not miss out on the SDF-1.

Ditto.

That depends on what shops make it available.  It's simple enough to order online from Hobby Link Japan, Hobby-Genki, Amazon Japan, Hobby Search, etc... these days.

Sometimes even Amazon and Big Bad Toy Store will carry the original Macross stuff anyway despite some of the restrictions around SDFM/DYRL.

Nothing on any of the sites yet. Here's hoping it'll pop up soon. 🤞

Sighs. They could have at least tempo the SDF minus the weathering and glow in the dark effects and it will still sell. The same applies for VF-0A

It says 2025, the pre-order could literally not go up until December.

Well then that would just be mean for them to announce it so early. 😒

So I'm curious, how much of the markings are actually tampo'd on the VF-0?

The earlier Arcadia releases were entirely dependent on stickers to actually have any of the main markings (they didn't even print the text on the sides of the legs).

Then why show it off at all? Man that just burns me alive. Why get hopes up like that and not deliver?
