areaseven Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 By Crom! The Oak himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, will return as the legendary Cimmerian warrior in The Legend of Conan. According to producer/co-writer Chris Morgan (Fast & Furious 3-7, 47 Ronin), the new film will not be a reboot, but a direct sequel to Conan the Barbarian (thus making Conan the Destroyer non-canon).Arnold Schwarzenegger's The Legend of Conan Will Be Brutal Sequel, Bringing Back Some Original Cast Quote
GU-11 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Crom...I've never prayed to you before. I'm Catholic. But good reviews pleases you, Crom. Please make this sequel as great as the original movie. And if you do not listen...then to hell with you! Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Aww that's too bad, I loved Conan the Destroyer. Okivia D'abo...rawr. Quote
areaseven Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Here's the problem: Who will chronicle Conan's new adventure now that Mako is no longer with us? Quote
GU-11 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Here's the problem: Who will chronicle Conan's new adventure now that Mako is no longer with us? Ken Watanabe? Or, God forbid, Jackie Chan? Quote
Sildani Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa has my vote. He hasn't done a strange character for a while. Ken Watanabe is a good actor, but he might add too much gravitas. Quote
areaseven Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Oh yeah, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa would make a perfect replacement for Mako. Another good choice would be George Takei ("Oh Myyyyy!!!"). Ken Watanabe right now looks too young and physically fit for the role of the Wizard of the Mounds. Quote
peter Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) Time to dust off the ol' Atlantean Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa has my vote as well. Watanabe is pretty awesome though - my wife met him once at the shinkansen station in Nagaoka when she was back visiting family, apparently he's a really nice guy and very polite. Valkyrie Hunter D Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 James Hong? He can do a pretty good wizard. Quote
areaseven Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) James Hong? He can do a pretty good wizard. I don't know, it's just that I keep wondering if his portrayal might come off as too similar to Lo Pan. Edited May 27, 2015 by areaseven Quote
reddsun1 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Well, unless Milius is directing this one too, big ol' meh. Wait--he's not retired/dead/blacklisted/etc, is he? Quote

peter Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 James Hong? He can do a pretty good wizard. Oh man, I'm gonna watch Big Trouble in Little China tonight, lol! David Lo Pan, awesome! Quote
GU-11 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Just my opinion, but just like James Hong will always be remembered as Lo Pan, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa will always remind me of Shang Tsung from Mortal Kombat. It was the first time I saw him acting in a movie, so the image kind of sticks. Quote
Gakken85 Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 (edited) MFW they puss out and make it pg-13 like they did with terminator... Edited May 31, 2015 by Gakken85 Quote
peter Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Any news on this? Updates? Is it actually happening? I was watching Terminator Genysis the other day and figure by the time they make this film, they could de-age Arnie and have a CG stand-in for the entire film and it would still look pretty awesome. Big s Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 I personally think of Conan was one of the greatest bad movies of all time. The acting is goofy, but the lines are gold if not pure cheese the action scenes are also silly, but great and the music is just epic and amazing, maybe the best thing about the film. Quote
Roy Focker Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 How come Conan didn't burn his fingers off when holding a light saber? Quote
