SuperHobo Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 If this release is solid and there are very little issues to report I think I'll buy the version with the SAP. I'm glad they painted the pilot and added a few more paint apps here and there. Quote
Sildani Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 A bit of matching white paint will do wonders in minimizing the visual impact of those screws. For those fugly tabs, nothing short of cutting the off will suffice, but then you'd need to come up with some alternate solution for locating, stabilizing, and locking the two carapace halves... Properly aligned and strong rare earth magnets might do the trick. Better be dang strong, because we don't know how much weight it has to support. I'd suggest bar magnets. Quote
Loop Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 I can't unsee that now. Thanks Loop. Personally the tabs on the chest are the worst thing for me. Your welcome Yeah, the chest tabs are hard to unsee also. When I see battroid pics my eyes go right to them. Quote
no3Ljm Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 new pics Love it! Looking forward to this coming December. Thanks for posting this valhary. Quote
Scyla Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 More complicated, probably. More elegant, probably not. Again, the VF-2SS's transformation was terrible and does not work in the real world. I'm impressed at any attempt made to PT it, because I honestly didn't think it was possible. New photos look good, but I think they've got the contrast way, way down to hide the seams. Can barely make out any panel lines. But I was already onboard from the prototypes so I'm fine with it. Liking the look of the cockpit now that it's painted, and the little pilot/Sylvie figure looks nice. Can't wait for mine to show up! I disagree. First I think you can make the transformation work but you probably have to modify parts of it. Similar to how the Yamcadia VF-1 has no leg delivery system. I think that the modifications have to be a more to the radical side and that you need a several years of experience designing PT Valkyries to get it right. I agree that the leg mechanism shown in the line-art probably won't work. Second I think even with the transformation scheme by ET you can do a way better approach hiding all the parts that are not perfect. The chest pegs, the hinges for the nacelles, the backpack, the way the arms align, the gappiness in Fighter-Mode. This is stuff that could have been improved but they chose not to. Bandai and Arcadia are probably able to pull this off so I'm looking forward if the HMR VF-2SS comes to fruition. Quote
mechaninac Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Better be dang strong, because we don't know how much weight it has to support. I'd suggest bar magnets. Neodymium magnets, even small ones in the 1/8" sq -1/4" sq range, are surprisingly strong. This little 1/4"x1/4"x1/16" block magnet, for example, has a pull force of 1.77 lbs; a couple of them per side, pulling against each other (even with 1-3mm plastic separation), strategically placed, would provide quite a hold... maybe too much, perhaps. valhary Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 according to NY the release date is december 31 so this is official or has been confirmed by evolution toys? Quote
no3Ljm Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) according to NY the release date is december 31 so this is official or has been confirmed by evolution toys? No exact date from Evolution Toy's website. But somehow NY's placed date is 75% accurate unless they email us for a new release date. ...deja vu... Edited December 3, 2015 by no3ljm Quote
NightCastle Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Anyone else get a notification that the release date for this has been delayed? Ami Ami sent me one. Quote
QEssential Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Nothing from HLJ. Did it say untill when? Quote
NightCastle Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I didn't see anything indicating when. Unfortunately. Quote
no3Ljm Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Then it only means two things: A) They're not gonna make it to the release date. And 2) They're fine-tuning it. And I hope it's the latter. Quote
505thAirborne Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I've waited this long for a VF-2SS.... I can wait a little longer. Quote
arbit Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 (edited) I've gained more familliarity looking at the VF2-SS so closely these recent months. One strange thing is it does not have the famous Macross rivets or other art design elements of SDF Macross. It does have the VF-1J color scheme, they were not shy about that, so why did they lose all the other brand trademarks? It also really does not look perfect to me in any single mode. So which mode was designed first? Was plane mode designed first, so that corners had to be cut on robot mode? I'm actually thinking that robot mode may have been designed first and plane mode followed. Any ideas? Edited December 16, 2015 by arbit Quote
leoganx Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Nippon-yasan sent me an email telling me the new release date: end of january Quote
mechaninac Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I, for one, welcome the delay; heck, I wouldn't mind it at all if they delayed it another month or two beyond that. I've waited this long, a few more months become irrelevant where this VF is concerned. Quote
liulin04 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Looks like a VF-2SS by Evolution Toys will be coming out early next year. Will you guys get it. It doesn't look that appealing from the fighter mode, so I am in a dilemma as I display all of my valks in fighter mode only. Quote

spanner Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 it would be nice to think that the delay is going towards making the toy a lot better than the initial pre-release photos.. but its more likely due to production or technical delays than anything else. Quote
Graham Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 One strange thing is it does not have the famous Macross rivets or other art design elements of SDF Macross. Macross rivets?????? You mean the circle-bar verniers? Quote
Convectuoso Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Hi, does anyone have the assembly guide for the VF-2SS Nexx? I bought it second hand and it didn't include the instructions. Quote
zzgundam010 Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I really want the SAP but am wondering if they will sell enough of the initial release for them to move ahead with the SAP. Quote
arbit Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 (edited) Macross rivets?????? You mean the circle-bar verniers? Exactly! I don't know my verniers from my air intakes. I'm a fan of the show, just never understood the VF-22S. Hope there will be an HMR version though. Edited January 2, 2016 by arbit Quote
treatment Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 (edited) Nice. Been a long while since I watched MII, but who's supposed to be piloting this yellow-striped again? Sylvie's was red and Nexx's was blue. Natasha? Amy? Saori? edit: hah! macross-mecha-manual says it was never animated, so nobody... http://www.macross2.net/m3/macross2/variant-vf-2ss-womans.htm Edited January 7, 2016 by treatment Quote
CoreyD Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I really hope they'll offer the sap on its own, but it probably won't happen Quote
treatment Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Ya know? ET should really panel-lined their VF2SS. Especially that SAP. Would definitely add more oomph! to the pr-pics. Quote
treatment Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 ami's preorder for the SAP'ed version is up! http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-016114 25,450yn 5/16 release so who wants the yellow? Quote
seti88 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Man, that thing looks so... plain. Not evo's fault, its just a fact M2 SAP valk's have minimal decals or colors on them. Part of why M2 was M2... Quote
