w8kbrder Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Hi all, Newb to collecting the newer Macross toys. Of course I still have all my "Robotech" toys from childhood. Been a huge fan of Macross Plus since highschool (1996) and love the 1/60th scale YF-19 and YF-21 fighters released by Yamato. (still trying to track down a 21) Since Arcadia released their updated version of the YF-19, can we expect to see their version of a YF-21 in the future? thanks and sorry for the newb question! Quote

jenius Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 I was told the mold would be too expensive though the door was left open for 'maybe some day.' Quote

Welcome aboard w8kbrder! Hope you enjoy your stay here. Now to answer your question. Not sure if Arcadia will do it. But everyone here is hoping they do. And if that happens, we wish that it's going to have a good proportion somehow, esp the legs area during battroid mode. And still try to make it slick when in fighter mode. I know some people is not happy with parts-forming stuff but for me, I really don't mind if that's the only way to make it work. But if they can do it all and still make it perfect transformation thing, then they should and I'll be happy. But the downside of this for sure in the end, is the price. From re-doing the design, creating the molds, materials used, etc etc. It's probably going to cost us $400+. And that's just basing on the recent VF-0D release with a MSRP of Y36800. Anyways, here's to hoping and wishing. Again, enjoy and happy collecting! Quote

I plan on sticking around as I have a few oldschool toys i need to post up pics of with questions. I know some people had complaints about the YF-19 that was released by Arcadia regarding the fragile state of it...but in my opinion it looks fantastic and super accurate. So after getting an overview on it, I was thinking they'd be doing all the fans an injustice if they didn't produce the YF-21 as well. I still see room for improvement over Yamato's last take on it. I hope they decide to go with it. That particular model seems to be very unique in design and color. I also love that the design pulls from the old Miriya zentradi suit. If they go through with it, I'll be the first in line because i"m having no luck finding a Yamato version! Everyone has one (or two or three) except me. Quote

Yeah, Arcadia's YF-19 is kinda fragile but you know what it's still sturdy. I had some finger cuts due to the pointy corners and those sharp 'fragile' corners is still there. So fragile, I have to own 2 of them. Hehehe. One is permanent fighter mode with Yamato's Fold Booster. And the other one is for playing. Same thing with YF-21. I bought one late last year. After hours of transforming it, i kinda wreck the thigh. And decided to get another one. And kept the one with broken thigh in fighter mode with its own Fold Booster. Instant display. Hope Arcadia decides to rework it soon. I'll pick one for sure. Quote
