no3Ljm Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 I don't have the Yamato Garland's, but how tall are those compared to this Fewture one? I really like the design and it's going to be my first Garland mecha toy, but the price is the only thing that's stopping me. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 (edited) About 20 cms or 8 inches. Not a bad size for a PT Garland toy, mind you, so five centimeters make a huge difference here. Also Yamato's was plagued with design issues. . Edited March 26, 2016 by Lonely Soldier Boy Quote
Loop Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I pre-ordered one, hope the usd-yen exchange rate is better by oct. I have my fingers crossed that is the case because this thing is pricey. Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Pre-ordered as well. I'm not gonna repeat what happened with Yamato's 1/24 Ingram. Quote
Sandman Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 (edited) So which one is taller yamato's or features? Edited March 26, 2016 by Sandman Quote
M'Kyuun Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Per Lonely Soldier Boy, Yamato's was approx 20 cm or 8", and the Fewture version is 25cm, or 9.8" in height. Not much difference. Given the amount of die-cast in this thing, I have to wonder how it'll hold up over time. While it feels good in the hand, and gives nice heft, it also takes its toll on plastic joints. And then there's paint to worry about chipping or wearing. Quote
Sandman Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Wow so it's actually taller. Damn i want this but way too expensive. Maybe if i didn't collect valks... Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 So Fewture makes the bodies die cast? I hope it's not the case, I'm tired of toys you have to handle like porcelain. Quote
Scyla Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 So Fewture makes the bodies die cast? I hope it's not the case, I'm tired of toys you have to handle like porcelain. Don't worry, I've heard that their paint isn't perfect* so you don't have to fear damaging it during handling. *see Chachipowers review of their Getter Robos. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 (edited) I'll just pretend it's the normal wearing of the bike after seeing some action, then. Edit: The good news is the Fewtures look pretty solid and well engineered. Edited March 27, 2016 by Lonely Soldier Boy Quote
jenius Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 What has Fewture done that'd be similar to this? I'd like to do some studying before I commit those many dollars. Quote
SuperHobo Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 If I recall, I think this is fewture's first transforming EX-gokin. I would approach with caution. Quote
jenius Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Meanwhile, at the offices of Arcadia:Manager: "How are things going with the new Garland toy?"Employee: "Good, work is done. The accountant says we need to charge 30,000 for it though."Manager: "30,000!!! That's insane. We'll never sell any at that price." Employee: "But sir, Fewture just priced their Garland at 40,000!" to employee: "Tell the accountant we'll do 35,000 and not a yen less!" I wonder if the Garland will sell out right away or if we'll have time to wait around for more info on the Arcadia release... Quote
F360 Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 I'm going to wait it out for more news from Arcadia. Hopefully there will be some news in the summer. Quote
M'Kyuun Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 I figure, either way, you're not procuring a high end Garland for less than $300, so you may as well be mentally and financially prepared. I think the choice will come down to whether you want a die-cast figure or a mostly plastic figure. Quote
SuperHobo Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 I want a transforming Garland that doesn't fall apart. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 It's a good thing that I don't like Fewtures take on the Garland (too far off from the official lineart). I'm fine with my Yamatos Garland and Proto Graland. It looks very playable though! Cool for all you people that like it!!! Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 I'm sure Arcadia will do a great job. Yamato´s track record used to be hit and miss at the time, but even they improved vastly in the final days. I think Yamato's Garland was a case of bad timing. My only concern with Arcadia's at this point is the size. Quote
Beltane70 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 If Fewture's Garland is bigger than Yamato's, then it really shouldn't be 1/24 scale. For that to work, they must have really upped how big a real Garland would be to make it larger in a smaller scale. Does that mean that the Shogo figure in Fewture's Garland is smaller than the Shogo in Yamato's? Quote
no3Ljm Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) What's this about an Arcadia garland? This one. Little bit smaller this time at 6.32in since it will be in 1/24 against Yamato's 1/15 scale.Slave Mode = 3.85m 1/15.4 = 25cm 1/24 = 16cm Edited March 28, 2016 by no3ljm Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) At 1/24 Arcadia's Shogo should be the size of the old MASK figures (since those prototypes were made of 1/24 model kits it's safe to assume their scale is correct). I loved those, really fun to play with. If it's Perfect Transformation I'll try to get Arcadia's as well. MZ-23 is always at the top of my wish list anyway. whitestar Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 As much as I want a new Garland, I'm not sure how well this will turn out considering Fewture's lack of experience with transforming figures. With that price tag, I'd rather wait for reviews. Quote
Sandman Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Yeah for close to $500 Canadian it's too risky for what may be a ET Vf-2ss situation. Unfortunately it's a pass for me as much as I wanted this. I'm going to be priced out of this hobby pretty quick if these prices keep going up. I remember the cms legions trend set's price being considered ridiculous at the time at $300 US. Quote

no3Ljm Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Let's just hope that the price for Arcadia's venture on this figure is right up our alley. Quote
Major Tom Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Fewture Garland was on display at Super Festival: http://www.taghobby.com/?p=159002 Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Cancelled my preorder. I was very hyped about this, but after taking a closer look I couldn't justify the price tag. Now I'm more excited about Arcadia's. It's been a while, so I hope it's not vaporware. Quote
Sandman Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 I would've loved to get this but not for that price. Sad. Quote
