CF18 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 It got a new stand that is different from the same old fixed angle of the other DX. Quote
McFly!! Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 interesting, even Alto's sidekicks are getting their valks made into toys... sorry, did they say that Jun's VF-171 will also be produced? Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I think I'll get one just so I can put the spare torpedo box and MDE cannon I have on it. Quote
Golden Arms Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Damn, Bandai is coming out Hard!! Count me in! Quote
xrentonx Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Where am I gonna get the money for all these Quote
close313 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I dont wanna buy this, but that stand! Maybe they're going to make ita-valks and use that stand Quote
Hey-Pi-Ron Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 (edited) Wow! I want this! Still haven't any VF-171EX. Time to try one! Edited November 22, 2014 by Hey-Pi-Ron Quote
The Old Man Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Not for me. I tried transforming my three so I could take a pic on them together in each mode. Between all the bits falling off and battroid mode not holding together I gave up and put them back to fighter mode. I was very close to putting them back in their boxes and throwing them up in the attic out of sight. Stupid things. Quote
abbadon Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I wasn't interested in the 171, until this... Quote
wmkjr Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 (edited) That stand looks similar to the one the YF-30 fighter mode had when it was first shown to the public although the base was a little different. I wonder why it wasn't released to the public. Edited November 22, 2014 by wmkjr Quote
anime52k8 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 arm looks similar, base looks different, I'm wondering if that's modified from a stand that came with a large gunpla kit at one point. Quote
recon Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Damn, this is another must get. God help us all! Quote
mechaninac Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 ^ The Macross gods are helping -- themselves; they're just not on our wallets' side. Quote
Duymon Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 (edited) Surprised nobody has mentioned this is a gift-set.......... The little tag reads: vf-171 nightmare plus EX (maruyama type) Armored parts set It's prolly gonna be around 20000 yen or so ..... and I'll still buy multiples >_< Damn you bandai Edited November 22, 2014 by Duymon Quote

I'm passing on this one Quote
Chronocidal Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Will probably pass entirely on this just because I've got enough 171s, but what's up with that Sheryl pic? It just looks... weird. Quote
mechaninac Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Is it weird accurate or is it weird wrong? How did the graphic look in the Anime? Quote
Chronocidal Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Accuracy aside, I mean weird weird. Is that her hair hanging in her face? And.. what's "GRAVE" have to do with anything? Quote
M'Kyuun Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Yeah, I thought the graphic on the back was a little odd, but whatever. I'm not really into these specialty jobs, and I think this mold looks much better in the dark blue. Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 (edited) Accuracy aside, I mean weird weird. Is that her hair hanging in her face? And.. what's "GRAVE" have to do with anything? Maybe they are referencing gravure? Or else since those guys were cannon fodder, it's just saying where they were heading shortly. Edited November 23, 2014 by MacrossJunkie Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 So will this edition explode into a million pieces like the cannon fodder version or be more like the alto version which was good? I haven't got many vf-171 except for alto thanks to the cannon fodder not being safe to buy. What is the chance we see a cannon fodder edition that is problem-free Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 The RVF seems to be okay so far. Quote
Chronocidal Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 The one I opened is ok so far as well, but there are definitely a few fractures directly in the plastic of the knee joints. It's that metallic junk they use, the flow lines in the plastic turn into places where it tends to just shear off. Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Ugh, over the 171 too but I'm in for two just because of the Sheryl graphic on the back. Makes me think it'll be the closest I'll ever get to a formal Minmay Moon Guard VF-1S release from that other company. -b. Quote
skullmilitia Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 (edited) Maruyama is a special character, he got Kakizaki'd. Took two episodes, but the made sure that you see him get canned in Ep. 25.It's too fast to see the full details of the "Nose Art". But the blur looks pretty much on que with what is on the Bandai piece. I'll get it because I like the character, but also because it's the true 171EX Cannon Fodder color, with the grey highlights. Lorindor Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I rewatched Frontier just a few months ago and cannot even remember that Alto's wingmen were named or had special paint jobs. Easy pass for me. But unfortunately, every VF-171 release have been easy passes for me... Why did the CF-171 have to be so crappy? It is the only variant I want, but I just can't justify buying a toy that will likely crumble to pieces. Quote
Loop Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I actually wanted 2 of these but without the itasha on the back. I wish we had the option. Quote
Chronocidal Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I'm sure some rubbing alcohol and elbow grease would do the trick. Quote
