Dobber Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 You guys were saying that the 2SS is a parts former, do we know how/to what extent? Chris Quote
Lolicon Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Box from the HS page. I don't recall seeing it on the previous pages. Quote

Dobber Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Thanks for the heads up with anime-export. Just ordered. Never used them before, I paid with PayPal but it still shows as unpaid on their page so I can’t request shipping. Does it usually take some time for them to update? Quote
sh9000 Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 The box art continues to be lovely for my MISB collection. Quote
sh9000 Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 I hope Bandai sprinkles in more larger sized Valkyries with their other releases. They can start with Macross Zero and Macross Plus. Quote
cmal Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 (edited) Oh, they got Obari to do the box art. Nice. And the gunpod not fitting is kinda worrying. Hopefully just a flub. Wait, two gunpods? Also, those are also some unsightly sprue marks. In any case, as soon as all my November POs hit I'm smashing that Ship button. Much excite. Edited November 21, 2017 by cmal Quote
sumyumgoy Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 I love that there's no window to the box...showing that nice art in full. Quote

Mommar Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 (edited) Those two images prove my first rule for HMR's, Battroid mode is always fun to pose. It was true of the VF-1's. Not sure if transforming or the other two modes are worth anything though. 16 minutes ago, cmal said: Oh, they got Obari to do the box art. Nice. And the gunpod not fitting is kinda worrying. I forgot it was intended for recreating the gunpod coming out of storage, not actually storing. All the previous promo photos always implied the former, this one of a specimen out in the wild just set off a false alarm. Quote
sh9000 Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 (edited) The cannon in the front is drooping because it hasn’t been glued on yet. The Gnerl is supported well on a Tamashii stage. The support attachment at the back is from the HMR Glaug. I wouldn’t mind if one of these were custom made in HMR scale to go with the VF-2SS. Edited November 21, 2017 by sh9000 Quote

The second gunpod is to mimic the storage gimmick (more accurately, the gunpod being ejected from inside the armor). I don't think there's any way to replicate it faithfully. There's animation magic going on there. Even when collapsed as the lineart calls for, the gunpod is simply too long to fit in the left arm armor. Quote

HardlyNever Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Also got the notice from AE, but I'm holding off on shipping until the regult release next month. As much as I want to get my hands on a non-vf-1, I gotta be sigh reasonable. Quote
Sanity is Optional Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 Mine's shipping with an SDF-1 from Hobby Search, so still waiting... Quote
jenius Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 I haven't heard anything from HLJ but I'm in the same boat, will ship with the SDF1. Quote

Yeah I’d want at least 1 enemy mecha to accompany the VF-2SS. It went back in stock and sold out again a while ago at HLJ. I think if I want to get my 6th VF-2SS for customizing it would have to be at NY’s price of 11280 JPY when it goes back in stock but it will probably be relisted for higher. Quote
eXis10z Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Those box pics makes me almost regret canceling my VF-2SS preorder. Quote
Sanity is Optional Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 (edited) Up at NY, still 11,480¥ https://www.nippon-yasan.com/21553-hi-metal-r-vf-2ss-valkyrie-ii-sap-silvie-gena-custom.html Edited November 22, 2017 by Sanity is Optional Quote
sh9000 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 (edited) Cool. Only 200 yen more than before at NY. Ordered and paid for another VF-2SS with Eco SAL shipping. Now I can make another variant. It’s available at HLJ for 14000 JPY. https://hlj.com/product/BANN17742 Edited November 22, 2017 by sh9000 Quote

Sildani Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 And how much kibble is still visible in fighter mode. This is the best 2SS effort yet, but it still doesn’t fully capture the sleekness of the design. It’s possible there was just too much anime magic to ever fully realize it. I do appreciate the engineering that went into the hips and legs to get them all where they need to go. Full marks for that. Quote

Definitely leagues better than the shitpiece Evolution Toy put out... Quote
