no3Ljm Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 I don't get why you say the clamp doesn't need to secure the Valk and why the bottom stand is needed when your example shows the Valk secured from the top clamp and nothing on the bottom...what am I missing? The clamp releasing the Valkyrie and finally taking off The way the clamp is designed is to look like the scene from the film. The lower arm is to support the valk. The clamp alone wouldn't be able to hold the valk without squeezing the strike packs on top and the back piece probably would separate out of position and make a very sad display. I was trying to post it using the timestamp option from YouTube but it won't load properly here at the boards. That's why I put 'At 2:12'. So if you watched the video around 2:12, you will see why the clamp need to be loose if you want to re-enact the launch scene. That's why you need the stand at the bottom. Though it would be nice if they made it a clear post/stand. But I'm sure you have the arm from the Stage Act, just replace it. Assuming that Bandai will release that Clamp Release Display Stand in the future and not wonder why the clamp arm is loose. Quote
chyll2 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 ^which requires totally new effect parts as well Quote
runab0ut Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Quick question... what stands are a perfect fit for HMRs? I probably have some action bases (dunno which type) for gunpla lying around somehere - dunno if the adapters or whatnot would fit to mount it. Quote
jaylive Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 the tamashii stage act 5 is made for them. also the trident works very well. Quote
sh9000 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Can't wait to open everything probably after work or the weekend. Still plan on converting one into a CF VF-1J too asap. Quote

Adapter-wise, it always comes with the Valkyrie. Just plug the adapters from the Valk to the Stage Act 5 and you're good to go. Quote

Boobytrap Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 I have a feeling why the clamp on this display stand doesn't need to secure the Valk. And why there's a stand on the bottom. So that you can display it like this: At 2:12. If they ever released it, that's how I would have displayed it - in a just released/ ready to blast off state. Be pretty awesome if they also provided some exhaust effects to go with it too. Quote
Boobytrap Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Got my VF-1A and VF-1J. It's nice to have a squadron in flight when paired with my VF-1S. I was surprised that the gun handle came molded into the hands. I wish that they left them as a separate piece like on the VF-1S. It made for a much cleaner look. Quote

jvmacross Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Awesome! I think these pics still don't contain all of your HMRs! Best Macross toyline ever!!! Quote
ScrambledValkyrie Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Bandai hasn't made a Focker VF-1S TV version HMR yet, so there's still hope. I have the previously released Focker VF-1S Strike Valkyrie HMR, but I'd shell out for a TV version. It'd be great if they release a TV version VF-1S with both Roy and Hikaru pilots, like how they include 2 pilots with the CF 1A. Ideally it would also include TV super parts. Then you could change out for whatever specific TV version you wanted. I'd definitely buy that. Quote
Roy Focker Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 They need to make some new power armor for this toy line. Quote

Roy Focker Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 I'm not sure if they are the best Macross toy line ever. They're the most versatile Macross toy line ever. They're at the perfect scale to allowed a wide variety of mecha of various sizes at reasonable prices. Quote
Keiichi Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Was super excited to receive my VF-1A and VF-1J the other day, but when I took a closer look at my 1J, I noticed something disconcerting: No left head laser?! Opened it immediately, and to my great relief I found the head laser loose inside the packaging. I figured it was something like that, so I wasn't too worried, but my heart definitely skipped a beat lol. I wonder how that even happened, as the head laser plugs in quite securely. As long as we're talking about stands and effect parts, etc.. does anyone know of some similarly-scaled buildings and/or landscape options that'd work well with the Hi-Metal R line? I mean, I know it's possible to just scratchbuild a diorama, but some of us aren't that talented. The Tamashii Building sets could work, though they're a bit undersized in relation to Hi-Metals. The come in both normal and damaged sets. http://hlj.com/product/BANN05959 http://hlj.com/product/BANN05179 Quote

Most buildings in the TV series seemed to be around as tall as a battroid and have 3 to 4 floors, think Hikaru crashing in to Nyan Nyan Restaurant with the Vf-1d. Quote
