jasonmacross83 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 guys, which is the better hi-metal figure? Glaug or Regult? Better engineered? Quote

Professor Dire Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 SHINY AND CHROME! which kit is that? Is it the old 1/100 Imaii(?)? Quote
jvmacross Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 TV pilot from Hi-Metal VF-1J kind of sort of fits....won't close with canopy on.... Quote
jvmacross Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 which kit is that? Is it the old 1/100 Imaii(?)? I believe MW member DarrinG did use the Imai kit as the basis for his custom zentraedi kits... Here is a group shot of the rest..... Quote
Professor Dire Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I believe MW member DarrinG did use the Imai kit as the basis for his custom zentraedi kits... Here is a group shot of the rest... Now I'm jealous. Are those the ones that use the revoltech joints? Quote
Chronocidal Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I want to guess yes? But the Millia is a customized Votoms figure, if I remember correctly. Quote
Professor Dire Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I've got a Matchbox Zent for a 1/60 custom if I ever "get the stones" to cut some revoltech joints into him. The Imaii 1/100 version is on my get list, and will get some articulation upgrades as well. TV pilot from Hi-Metal VF-1J kind of sort of fits....won't close with canopy on.... I wonder if the pilots from some of the old 1/100 Macross kits would fit better? Quote
sh9000 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 that wins MW today..possibly the entire internet. LOL Best. Episode. Ever. Awesome display! If this doesn't make the MW front page, Facebook page, and Twitter page....someone needs to get fired...LOL awesome! shame you couldn't get him on a Suzuki Katana.. though the Honda is still fine! Thanks! Quote
jvmacross Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Now I'm jealous. Are those the ones that use the revoltech joints? Yes. I also bought his "prototype"...which uses different joints...it seems better to me...not sure why they were not used for the rest of the sets.... Quote
ZorClone Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 i haaaaate hate hate hate revoltech joints, they always feel like they're gonna break--and in fact I did have one snap on me on the WALL-E figure. I don't get why they use such weak plastic on those, yet charge $30-60 for them. Quote

I don't get why they use such weak plastic on those, yet charge $30-60 for them. I have lots of revoltechs (around 50) never broke a revo joint, although some of of the ironman jonints feel flimpsy. Still none have broken. Quote
Boobytrap Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I have lots of revoltechs (around 50) never broke a revo joint, although some of of the ironman jonints feel flimpsy. Still none have broken. Nothing to do with the durability of the revoltech joints, mine have all held up fine, but I hate them due to their appearance. They never seem to be integrated into the figure very well and always ruin the overall flow of the figure. The ratcheting joint (which i find unnecessary in figures of this size) also limits some of the poses. For those reasons I prefer Figmas or Figuarts. I'd be over the moon if Macross figures were ever released by one of those 2. But, back on topic, those customs are quite nice. I also couldn't help myself and had to put my HMR Hikaru on a bike poppin' a wheelie. Too much fun. Quote
jenius Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 The miria figure is based on the Yamato Fyana figure which is a Figma precursor. Quote
Old Man Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I believe MW member DarrinG did use the Imai kit as the basis for his custom zentraedi kits... Here is a group shot of the rest..... How do these compare to the T-Rex Zentraedi Soldier? Quote
sh9000 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I also couldn't help myself and had to put my HMR Hikaru on a bike poppin' a wheelie. Too much fun. Right on. Quote
jvmacross Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 How do these compare to the T-Rex Zentraedi Soldier? Unfortunately...I did not get the T-Rex kit....it is a more modern sculpt so some may prefer it.... The articulation should be similar due to requiring the use of similar joints....the waist might be an extra point of articulation for the T-Rex.... Quote
derex3592 Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Man those are just all kinds of awesomeness Quote
edstuff Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 I'd love to see a 1/6 scale custom zentraedi. Well that would be 1/24. Wait what is the human to zentraedi ratio again? Quote
sh9000 Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Bandai needs to release SHF Britai and Zentradi to go with this line. Quote

UN Spacy Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 The price of the Monster has gone down on Ami. It's now listed as 18,540...down from 22,890 when it was originally released. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-017242 Quote
sh9000 Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Because it has box damage. The regular listing is still here. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?scode=FIGURE-017242 Quote
mickyg Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 The Monster is amazing! Just pulled it out of the box after my PW items arrived in from HLJ. What an incredible toy! Quote
Professor Dire Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 The Monster is amazing! Just pulled it out of the box after my PW items arrived in from HLJ. What an incredible toy!Agreed. What kind of blows my mind is how big it is compared to 1/100 Macross mecha. Compared to my old 1/100 Phallanx, the MkII is truly massive. Quote
fenrir72 Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 (edited) Just picked up my Monster. What's this part for anyway? Used existing image as reference Please see arrow in the image Edited August 24, 2016 by fenrir72 Quote
