koonfasa Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 (edited) Hmm gotta decide if I want those. I have them in 1/60, but then that would give me ammunition to get the Acadia Roy... Getting more excited about those Glaug's. Edited May 20, 2016 by koonfasa Quote
Roy Focker Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Glaug is being prepped. Don't know this means they actually have the Glaug or just acknowledging my payment. Quote

RDX17 Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Why are their arm armors the DYRL type? Aren't they supposed to have the TV type arm armors? That is strange. I do appreciate the color coding, but it doesn't appear to be SDFM accurate (as far as I can tell). Quote
Lolicon Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Why are their arm armors the DYRL type? Aren't they supposed to have the TV type arm armors? Same reason the 1J pilot is wearing the wrong flight suit. Bandai cutting corners again. Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 this is such garbage, miria has grey stripes and max's is blue is 110x better than arcadia' making them look so much better??? bandai why are you valks looking so good Quote
RDX17 Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 (edited) Same reason the 1J pilot is wearing the wrong flight suit. Bandai cutting corners again. Looking back at the first display pictures from 2014, they had the gray fast packs. I wonder what's caused the change at this point. Just an mistake perhaps? Or maybe this display is inaccurate? It's a bit of a shame, but not necessarily a deal-breaker. Edit: Maybe it's the lighting in the display? Maybe that white is actually a light gray? It doesn't explain why the front portion of Max's Fast Pack is white though. I don't recall ever seeing Max's VF-1J with that before. There is a brief moment where the front portion of Milia's Fast Pack is white/light gray though. That might explain some of the confusion. Edited May 20, 2016 by RDX17 Quote
Chronocidal Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 (edited) WTF Bandai, can we stop with the random "We don't care about accuracy, we're gonna do whatever we like" crap? Those are the same colors they used on their 1/72 kits, and now they're just sticking with their home-grown nonsense again. It's not that they look terrible, but how hard is it to follow the freaking designs and colors from the animation? Edited May 20, 2016 by Chronocidal Quote
Steelius Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 (edited) The Max and Milia color schemes reflect bandai's colorschemes for their 1/72 models. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/5d/8f/f8/5d8ff8e7f72cdd4a3d94e0a65bc89017.jpg Edited May 20, 2016 by Steelius Quote
Loop Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 (edited) We get that steelius, the problem is that we want accurate toys I hope they fix these issues on M&M before release. Edited May 20, 2016 by Loop Quote
F360 Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 What if they decided to release 1 M for regular and 1 M for web exculsive with a macross trident display stage!? Quote
RDX17 Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 The Max and Milia color schemes reflect bandai's colorschemes for their 1/72 models. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/5d/8f/f8/5d8ff8e7f72cdd4a3d94e0a65bc89017.jpg Ah...got it. This sort of explains the HMR release. At least in terms of where the color schemes came from. Thanks for pointing this out. Quote
arbit Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 I assume Big West would have to approve the color schemes, don't they? Quote
jvmacross Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Bandai went "Arcadia" on the Max and Millia colors ever since they released their recent 1/72 kits....now it looks like they gave Max the color treatment they gave their Millia.... I'd prefer the classic TV color schemes, but not that concerned.....I'll just accept them as how Max and Millia Super VF-1J's would have looked like after the events of DYRL..... Quote
no3Ljm Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Question guys. When you say anime accurate and TV color accurate, do you guys also consider in which format you've seen it? VS OR VS Hahaha! My bad. just kidding guys. I forgot that THIS IS MacrossWorld. Quote
jvmacross Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Question guys. When you say anime accurate and TV color accurate, do you guys also consider in which format you've seen it? Not sure about everyone else, but I am just referring to the paint job "scheme"...not the shade or hue of the red or blue....which can be open for interpretation or can vary depending on the viewing source as you point out....however, even on the crappiest bootlegs...you can tell there are no "white paint applications" on the armor or missile pods...so bandai is definitely taking some Arcadia-style liberties on the paint applications with these two.... Basically, the only canon scheme for TV-style Super VF-1J Max and Millia should look like this.....no white paint on any part of the armors or missile pods on the fast packs...the white on the Bandai HMR super Max/Millia VF-1J armor and missile parts should be grey....with that all said....these are still insta-buys! Roy Focker Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 I know it's like we want M&M! Here you go. The colors are off a shade. I hate you! I want to live with Dad! Quote
jenius Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 In the anime the paint on the supers is not consistent so for now I'm not bothered. Quote
RDX17 Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 In the anime the paint on the supers is not consistent so for now I'm not bothered. Consistency is definitely an issue, as this old thread confirms: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/?showtopic=33919 Quote
jvmacross Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Looking forward to how Tenjin will interpret them on the box cover, will he match the actual product's paint scheme and armor type? They basically are TV/DYRL hybrids, so it's all good. Quote
jvmacross Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 I hope arcadia does a reissue soon of m&m It'll be done in blue and red chrome....they already provided a tease.... Quote
