EXO Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I need Hikaru's TV VF-1J so I can recreate the opening credits battle scene with the Regults and also his later battle against Kamjin's Glaug. I have it and the joints are so loose on it. lol. Quote
jenius Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I was just playing with my original HM Hikaru and it's held up fine. Seems I got a good one, or maybe just didn't handle it very much. Quote
Drad Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I missed the first HI METAL train. Time to get on this one! Quote
Mommar Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) I have it and the joints are so loose on it. lol. The Ankles on my Hikaru are massively floppy now. Max has held up but I haven't really fidgeted with him as much. Edited February 4, 2016 by Mommar Quote
sh9000 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 My VF-1J Max has still held up pretty well and it's the one I transform the most. Maybe it's because it's Max. Quote
EXO Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 The Ankles on my Hikaru are massively floppy now. Max has held up but I haven't really fidgeted with him as much. I took mine on a cross country trip... and boy are his legs tired! Quote
wmkjr Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) HIs back and left arm looks tired from carrying the guy next to him the whole trip. Edited February 4, 2016 by wmkjr Quote
locidm Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 My original HM 1J has yellowed. It sits on a shelf in my office which gets indirect sunlight. Quote
gunbuster76 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang. that thing is huge. and i bet gonna be a pricey one. Quote
Drad Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Dang, I forgot how big that thing is. I may not get it after all. No place to put it. Quote
sh9000 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Around $200? Not bad. Give me a preorder button. Quote
SuperHobo Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 25,000 yen? That's a spicy monster. Not unexpected, but hey it's the first monster toy from SDF since the original 80s toys? Quote
lavinrac Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I really hope thy don't Kill the Hi-Metal R line when we dont all rush out and buy this in multiples. I gotta sit this one out. I dont LOVE it enough to pay that. Quote
Lolicon Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 More expensive than the Koenig even though it doesn't transform. Yikes. Just one for me. Quote
EXO Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 More expensive than the Koenig even though it doesn't transform. Yikes. Just one for me. I was thinking the same thing... that's a huge jump from the Glaug to the Monster's price. I was expecting for it to be a bit more but not that much. Not more than the Koenig. Quote
F360 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Wow, the monster is expensive. I'll probably gonna skip it unless I can get it for a much better price. I can not justified this non transformable thing costing more than a transformable Chogokin. Quote
Mommar Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I don't want to sound like a dick but I'm enjoying the sticker-shock responses. Quote
wmkjr Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 It was voted number one so let's see if sales will back up the votes. Looks like it uses 3+ valks with supers worth of plastic so I was guessing at least 3 times the price. Quote
SuperSenpai Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Well that's not going to fit in a Detolf! Quote
EXO Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I don't want to sound like a dick but I'm enjoying the sticker-shock responses. Did you hear that cat? The Monster is going to be 25000JPY Quote
jvmacross Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 image.png I need at least 6. Absolutely!.... Quote

Henry Ford has a famous quote about it, "They would have asked for faster horses" and Steve Jobs has lots of quotes about it... basically all saying it's dumb to do. The folks demanded the Monster... now none of them will buy it because what they really want is a repainted VF-1. Quote
wmkjr Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 (edited) Then I guess Arcadia's doing a pretty good job of following that rule. Edit: I wonder how much metal will be in this thing? Edited February 7, 2016 by wmkjr Quote
Drad Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 If this line tanks because the Monster doesn't do well, I'm gonna be pissed. I have high hopes. Quote
EXO Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I'm still buying it. Just have to reach deeper into the pocket... lol. Quote
Drad Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I don't have a problem with the price. It is pretty huge, and that costs money. I just literally don't have any room for it. I dunno. We'll see. I wanna have a complete collection so badly, and so far it looks like Hi-Metal R is coming closest to helping me achieve that. That said, I wonder how many people are gonna spring for the Monster, considering the price/space concerns. I hope it does decently enough, and if not I hope it doesn't stop Bandai from continuing the line. Quote
VF-Zer0S Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 So it doesn't transform? Dam if it does i'm in but if not, an easy pass. I love the monster but that's ways too much space Quote
Drad Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 So it doesn't transform? Dam if it does i'm in but if not, an easy pass. I love the monster but that's ways too much space That's the original Monster, so no, no transformation. If it did, that'd be adding a feature that it never had in the first place. Quote
arbit Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 (edited) It looks enormous! Imagine how big the box will be. Where do I put it? Edited February 7, 2016 by arbit Quote
