no3Ljm Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 This one looks nice. I agree with most of you that the wing is kinda long in Battroid mode. Looks like a cape. Hope it's not that tall so that it can be displayed together with the SDf-1 Makuros. Quote
aaajin Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 looking at it again makes me realize that its not proportionally balanced in fighter mode. too much focus on battroid. easy pass for me & still happy with the ol JM's. Nothing against the toy, and hope those who find it cool could appreciate its aesthetics. Quote
Swooshiex Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 seems like everyone has forgotten these SD joke machines which were only released in japan: http://www.ebay.com/itm/161486063286 Quote

They look somewhat oversized in Valkyrie even. Hopefully this can be fixed in the final product, or they can be made swappable. Quote
jvmacross Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 I never thought of this before...but perhaps the reason why we are getting SD stuff is due to the wide range of "interpretation" of the source material it allows....thus no need to actually do something close to lineart = less direct competition with the likes of Bandai and Arcadia = less risk of getting slapped down? We need enemy mechs from 3P....since neither Bandai or Arcadia seems to want to fill those voids.... Quote

eriku Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 (edited) So at 13.5cm (5.5 inches) it'll be taller than the SDi VF-25 for sure. I don't have my Joke Machine handy to measure, but I think those are around 10cm tall. Edited November 21, 2014 by eriku Quote
Golden Arms Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Definitely going to pick up one or 2. Quote
bbrain Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Another SD product i can add to my "DO NOT WANT" list.. MAKUROS was cool because it was something totally different, but these have been done and redone from Takatoku to Toynami, we need fan favorites to get behind, not more Morphers Quote
Swooshiex Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 i like transformable SD products. but i also like non-transformable SD products. the Gundam SD products that are non-transformable have been popular for so many years. Quote
TheLoneWolf Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I'm with bbrain on this one; we've already got enough chibi VF-1's on the market. If I'm going to be tempted to buy a new one, then it'll have to be a bona fide home run. This one comes close, but the long wings and lack of landing gears make it a pass for me. Quote
EXO Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I'm still partial to the Rohby JM... The snub nose and the bubble canopy, All it needs is a bigger head. I think I'm just excited about seeing another 3P interest in Macross. Depending on price, I just might take a stab. I wonder if they'd be willing to change the wing and the nose sculpt? It's too "duck billed" Quote
eriku Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 looks like the 1J and 1A will be ready around the same time as the 1S Quote
ErikElvis Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I don't see what all the hates about. It looks pretty good to me. Quote

eriku Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I don't think the LED will neccessarily increase the cost. LED lights are so dirt cheap they're in throw-away junk toys everywhere. Quote
eriku Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Their facebook site is gone. Let the Harmony Gold smack-down theories commence! Quote
EXO Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 It looks like they listened shortened the wings. But no Fast/Strike packs Quote
danth Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Those feet are ridiculously big. Shorten those up and these will look a lot better. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 If the price is right, why not. Quote
eriku Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 I liked the longer wings better in fighter mode. Include swappable sets perhaps? Quote

But no Fast/Strike packs 41_629411_421af1e05ddebfd.jpg41_629411_eec1e565a7c31f6.jpg Sweet, it's good to know that they take fan feedback seriously. My only other nitpicks are the lack of landing gears (I'd even settle for plug-in landing gears) and the big "001" on the wing with the red tip. If I buy one, I'd like to put a UN Spacy kite sticker from a spare Yamato sticker sheet on that wing, ala the line art. But the "001" font is so large that the kite sticker would have to take up most of the wing. I know I know, I'm being picky. But a plain black strip on that wing would be helpful to those of us who'd want to put a kite on, and I doubt it'd increase the cost at all. Quote
Arthurius Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Wish their facebook page was still up, so I can keep asking them questions and giving them feedback. Now, I don't know how to contact them. Anyways, I find 5" height to be on the large size, but will still consider. Would like the FPs though. Just gotta see price and if ok, decide if I get the 1S or the 1J, as I kinda want the Bandai 1/100 vf-1 too... Quote
Mechapilot77 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 i think these look pretty awesome....having owned the toynami morpher crap this is way way way better...i hope this is still happening! Quote
jvmacross Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Sweet, it's good to know that they take fan feedback seriously. If Arcadia did that....we'd have VF-4, Max & Milia VF-1J and VT-1 re-issues by now.....instead of a golden-accented VF-19 Kai.... Quote
EXO Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 If the price is right, why not. this place has it listed for $70... I've never ordered from here though. http://www.toyercity.com/goods.php?id=279 Quote

jvmacross Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 That listing says it's made of over 40% diecast. That's because those 3P guys don't need no stinkin' license! Otherwise hi-metal content would be limited to the feet! :/ Quote
atreyu2112 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 These look great. If the price is right, I might get a few. Quote
