azrael Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Let's just start this now. Incoming flood of new topics. They're confirming it will be Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel. Quote
Mr March Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 There are so many Marvel announcements. Well, first FEMALE standalone super hero film from Marvel. IT'S ABOUT F-ING TIME! Quote
badboy00z Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I get confused with DC's Captain Marvel. lol Quote
azrael Posted October 28, 2014 Author Posted October 28, 2014 I get confused with DC's Captain Marvel. lol They just call him Shazam now. Ends the confusion. Quote
Dobber Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I'd say Katheryn Winnick or Katee Sackoff would be great as Carol. Chris Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 J Law for Captain Marvel! grumble -b. Quote
Dangard Ace Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Jude Law? If they do the male Captain Marvel why not? Otherwise Katniss Everdeen. Quote
renegadeleader1 Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 already confirmed as Carol Danvers aka Ms Marvell version of Captain Marvell. Quote
Kelsain Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 I figured that was a given - depending on one's taste, at least. But for that matter, lets further differentiate from DC's movie Wonder Woman - how about someone who's not a size 0. A gal doesn't need to be skinny to look good. Quote

Mommar Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 LOL. Whomever they get to play Carol Danvers got some tall boots to fill. I'm assuming they're going to go with a costume a bit closer to this instead. Quote
renegadeleader1 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 would be kinda nice if they paid tribute to the old outfit by I don't know have a scene of her working out in the gym or something in the leotard. Quote
EXO Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 In that case, I guess Haysen Christensen will do. Quote
EXO Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Yvonne Strahovski. That was my second choice! Quote
Mommar Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I don't know who any of these actresses are you people are posting about except for Katee Sackhoff (who I ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY DO NOT WANT.) Quote
Mr March Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Emily Blunt. -b. Hell yeah! If anyone seen Edge of Tomorrow, they'd cast her without a second thought. Kick ass! Quote

Hell yeah! If anyone seen Edge of Tomorrow, they'd cast her without a second thought. Kick ass! Exactly, she was amazing in that - acting ability and the ability to handle action. It'll be interesting to see who is actually cast and then even more interesting to see the various reactions to that choice. -b. Edited October 30, 2014 by Kanedas Bike Quote
areaseven Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Just cast Lucie Wilde and call it a day. Quote
Dobber Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) Katheryn Winnick is on History's Vicking's and she's pretty badass on that show too. Edited November 4, 2014 by Dobber Quote
Mommar Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Katheryn Winnick is on History's Vicking's and she's pretty badass on that show too. I don't know who that is but after a quick google search she does have a pretty good look when compared to Carol Danvers. I don't know about her acting chops, but then I rarely watch movies/TV so what do I know. Quote
Roy Focker Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 I don't know who Captain Marvel is nor do I know who these actresses are. Does this mean I'm uncool or cool because I don't about such things? Quote
myk Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 I don't know who Captain Marvel is nor do I know who these actresses are. Does this mean I'm uncool or cool because I don't about such things? No. Carol Danvers and the actresses mentioned in this thread are no different than any of the other millions of hot chicks in fantasies or walking around on this planet and are just as forgettable... mikeszekely Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 J Law for Captain Marvel! Too trendy. I'd say Katheryn Winnick Oh yeah, she'd be good! or Katee Sackoff No thanks. I've never understood the appeal... she looks like a 15 year old boy to me. Amber Heard gets my vote! That could work, I suppose. In that case, I guess Hayden Christensen will do. See Katee Sackoff Emily Blunt No. Just because she can do action doesn't mean she's a fit for Captain Marvel. Yvonne Strahovski. Now you're talking! Yvonne gets my vote. Just cast Lucie Wilde and call it a day. Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 ^Honestly, I wrote Emily Blunt because (1) she can act and (2) she can do action - pretty good credentials when thinking about casting a comic book movie. I don't read Captain Marvel and honestly know nothing about the character so I have no opinion on "fit" for the character with regards to Emily Blunt, Katheryn Winnick (who "looks" more the part going off of the pictures posted than Emily does) or the other serious suggestions. Eh, either way I'm sure whoever is cast will cause more yays and nays from our members. -b. Quote
EXO Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Lol. The only Captain Marvel I know goes by Shazam now. Pretty much just calling out girls that would look good in skin tights. Emily was great in live die repeat or whatever they're calling it now. Quote
Mr March Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Carol Danvers can be anyone. The character doesn't have to be a "type", that's sorta the point. I support Emily Blunt as suggested casting because she can truly act and can do "convincing" action, which is a far cry from throwing some dumb Hollywood flavor-of-the-month into the mix and watching half-assed waifu (cue Wonder Woman). I also happen to think Blunt is an entertaining actor. Quote
Dobber Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) The only 2 shows I remember/know Katheryn Winnick from is Vicking's which she has a major role in and is pretty good in it. Strong and fierce when she needs to be but still can convey emotions when the script calls for it. The other show was Bones, she was Booth's hot reporter girl friend for a while.
