Reaction Warhead
I have to wonder how much military power the Kingdom of Wind can lay to bear. Why they may be a threat to a single colony the NUN can show its military might by sending a combined NUNS taskforce. It may find itself outgunned. The NUN has a great industrial capacity due to the Factory Satellites. Well, we didn't see any NUNS/SMS reinforcements being deploy in Macross Frontier (TV ver.) as the entire Galaxy fleet was seemingly annihilated and the Frontier fleet in danger of being overrun by Tyranid Vajra forces. So, Delta's planetary defense force might be on its own. Honestly, with the NUN government launching colony fleets left and right, I'll be surprise if they even have a sizable emergency respond force to deal with stuff like this. Maybe Planet Delta/Kingdom of Wind is considered a sovereign nation that is currently engaged in a civil war, so the NUNS government can't get involved? or maybe the conflict is not even big enough to be on NUN's radar. that's Grace's child, she gave those earrings to Nome So, Grace was passing out free candy fold quartz to children while driving in her van? Graham
Maybe we won't see NUNS in this at all. Although if we do, I wonder what VF they will be using in 2067? I'm also curious how the faction that is using the VF-31 got them?
Raptor One
The VF-25 seemed pretty successful didn't it? Plus I don't think it has the problem of looking "too heroic" that prevented the Kawomori from using the -19 as the main NUNS fighter back in Frontier. That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing some 19EFs in this.

But they would've done if it were on time. From Ozma and Cathy's conversation not only were the fold faults are going to delay a response but also the parliament going for a decision. In the movie continuity Galaxy was pretty much already suspected by the rest of the NUN for espionage and human rights violations. The response was comparably quick. In VF-X2 the Macross 13 fleet was their response fleet to Zentradi rebels and terrorists.

Yeah, didn't someone said they want to get away from the whole UN thing for copyrights reason? I think we'll see SMS instead (again). I vote for the VF-22 as their mainstream fighters in 2067. If a faction got enough money they can buy whatever toys available to outfit their military with.

I have no inside info here or anything, but I kind of doubt that... After all, Mihoshi High had a VF-1 (with UN Spacy kite) on its frickin' roof... Nor does it have to do with HG. HG won't dare do it Japan lest they get stomped. They already tried to trademark Marcross in Japan and it didn't work. I'm also curious how the faction that is using the VF-31 got them? They will most likely be using VF-25's. Remember, in 2059, the SMS was field testing the VF-25's and they were supposed to be the successor to the VF-171. As of 2067, it's only been 8 years, surely the VF-25 isn't already obsolete by then, that would be ridiculous. Graham
Yeah, I also suspect if we do see NUNS make an appearance in Delta, they'll be flying a mix of VF-25s and maybe some old VF-171. I doubt the 8 years since Frontier is enough time to replace all the frontline VF-171 in service with VF-25s yet.

The VF-4 (ops 2012-2030) replaced the VF-1 (ops 2009-2015) in 2020 as the main variable fighter. Edited November 3, 2015 by treatment
sketchley
Re: What VF that NUNS is using in Delta (if they appear at all):One thing that has been reclarified in recent months is that Kawamori-san is a visual designer first and foremost. Visual design took precedent in Frontier with the deployment of the VF-19 being replaced by the VF-171 (because it is visually distinct from the VF-25), and the same will hold true in this case. Therefore, I highly doubt that if we see NUNS, they'll be using the VF-25 (because it's quite similar to the VF-31). The question that remains is what does the Sv-262 look like in Battroid, and how visually distinct that is from the VF-171? (NUNS using the VF-171 is already established with the generation of fans brought in with Frontier, and recently, more often than not, Kawamori-san has been recycling designs). azrael
I would prefer NUNS to show up at the end only. They can have agents should up during the show but I would like Delta to focus on planetary forces. We only saw it once in Dynamite 7. I would like to see them revisit that setting again. No NUNS, just local forces.

Jasonc
I agree. Cute girls and me mecha are great, but it's the story that really it for me. I can't just do macha only with nothing else. The other elements that make anime what it is are essential too, so cute girls is a +1 for me as well.

Tochiro
Cosplay designers, GET TO WORK NOW!!! That is all. I have already seen two Macross Delta cosplays in the wild :-) And I'm expecting far more at Wonderfest and Comiket :-) I have to wonder how much military power the Kingdom of Wind can lay to bear. Why they may be a threat to a single colony the NUN can show its military might by sending a combined NUNS taskforce. It may find itself outgunned. The NUN has a great industrial capacity due to the Factory Satellites. The thing is, the word planetS has been used when referring to the conflict. As in plural. That was somewhat hastily retracted though so it's all still a mystery. I would like to see NUN or even UNSpacey come back in some way. Even as a galactic empire shades... of SW. What Valkyrie-dom have you been looking at? Because apart from the Alto vs Brera fights, IMO theres been a distinct LACK of dog fighting in recent years. Personally, I'm glad that Kawamori has said his aim with Delta is to bring talk vs talk fighting back to tv. As for specialised talks/roles - Michele and Luca pretty much did just that. My point is we normally get a hero valk mainly built for speed and for dog-fighting. I wish there were more fighter bomber designs, or different valks doing the sniping/recon or even as a missile carrier just for variety. I guess i miss the Kawamori with many sketches and experimental designs. The 262 looks like a step in the right direction and would welcome more of that variety.
